"We have arguments," Ristanovic said. "He doesn't understand. All he wants is that Milos arrives to the Knicks. He only wants this thing."

So many people here claim the guy is ready now and want him here, I say can anyone of you see his "HEART"? He has heard of the rumors about playing in the Garden and he knows he must come polished to be labeled to the "Savior of the back court". He obviously realizes he needs to touch up on some things and is deciding to stay in Europe to get better. Example: Manu Ginobolli stayed in Europe and spurs fans didn't say a peep when he was drafted in 1999. So everybody calm down and wait until in Milos "HEART" he is ready for the (BIG APPLE).

you know, I can't ever remember seeing any quotes from milos himself. Maybe he is getting bad advice from his agent, or maybe his agent is scared that he would get dumped after moving to the US.

... the Vujanic situation is another glaring failure of Scott Layden. Here's a guy who got on a plane to see Yao Ming, a guy he had little to no chance of getting... yet the guy regarded as the "best" point guard in Europe... OUR draft pick... (a guy Knicks stated "could start for us today") could not be convinced to play in New York City... no, he preferred to sign a two year deal in Bologna... Bologna!!!

His agent may end up costing him a lot of money. His agent is a damn fool, to not understand why Layden is upset. I thought these European guys dreamed of playing in the NBA especially NY. I want to hear from Milos and not from his cronie!

Bottom line, he was unsuccessful... He should have had a team of translators over there and shouldn't have left wherever this guy is... until he persuaded him to come. He failed yet again, Playa.

Pike I do agree with you to some extent, but in all fairness I believe layden has tried all he can to get milos over here. I think this whole situation is a byproduct of milos dumb azz agent. Then again, this should have been laydens priority a long time ago. Taking steps to clear up the back court would have sent a clear message to milos that the knicks wanted him over here right away.... I will cut layden some slack on this, but he is on a short rope...

Question: Why wasn't there a opt-out after year one? Answer: Simple, Vujanic would have gotten a lot less money... Prod said it yesterday... he went for the cash. Vujanic is spilt milk, at least this year.

He would be 25 when he came over, I dont see what the big deal is.

You have to put it in perspective....What would you rather have in round 2? A guy that can play right away but might not even make the roster or play? Guys like Postell?

Look at the 2002 draft. The only 2nd round players that so much as cracked to rotation or had ANY impact at all were Dan Gadzurich and Carlos Boozer. Thats not such good percentages.

If it takes him 3 years to come the Knicks STILL have to be thrilled about this pick. So you wait 3 years, bottom line is you get a pg that has potential/talent to be a top 5 player at his position. You hope you get that in round 1, getting it in round two makes it just cream.

Just wait, let him do his thing and pick him up in 1-2 years when he's ready. Sign him to a 4 year deal worth say $7-$8 mill or so and at the worst you have a nice scoring punch off the bench. At best you have your pg for the next 10 years. Its a win win win.....its not like we gave up anything to get this guy. While the situation is frustating its still good situation to be in.

Typical Knick fans with no patience....everyone wants a younger, more dynamic team, but nobody is willing to have the patience it takes to build such things. This isnt any different from SA and Ginobili. This guy was so good he put Steve Smith out of a job.

The only way you turn around a situation like the Knicks is to stockpile talent. If it takes 3 years to get here fine...better late than never.

That was a very accurate, reasonable and well thought out analysis fishmike. Most of these 2nd rounders never amount to squat but some spaceses in a someone's summer league and about a few minutes of playing time a week at best. I just hope we're not stupid enough to trade this guy for nothing. We could reap some very high benefits a few years from now by just holding on. Or who knows.. maybe we could even package him with someone else a season or two from now for something amazing and unforseeable at this point in time... We need to relax and let this guy do what he needs to do to get here...

Its funny how you call that analysis well thought out, and here is where I find fault with it..

First of all Milos is not a typical 2nd round talent, the guy in any other year under normal circumstances is a first round pick from all reports, maybe even lottery. So to say be patient and wait two years is frustrating and here is why. You want milos over here to gain NBA experience, in 2 years even at the age of 25, milos will still be a NBA rookie running the toughtest position on a team and even tougher for a rookie. Look at Jaric with the clippers, it will take him at least 2 more years to get completely aclimated with NBA play, so now the 2 years has turned into basically 5 years before we have a finished product. Milos staying over there another 2 years IMO is slowing his progress to be all that he can be over here... Another thing is that we are hearing from his agent and his agent is frustrating the process and believe me if we had 3 mil per year to offer Milos would be over here, for get this getting ready crap...

We are impatient for a reason!!

Milos has has ONE good year in Europe...before this year he was a backup to Jarik on the National team that nobody knew about. He got a shot and made the most of it. As for being and additional 3 years away neither of us knows that. If you have watched Jarik you see a player wasting on the Clippers. He is much better than his numbers, and he really knows how to play team ball....to bad the rest of the team doesnt.

Milos isnt a finished product. He's going to a tougher league to be the pointguard and main weapon. If he's as good as people like Chad Ford think this will be fine. If not oh well.

This 2 year deal takes him a step closer to being NBA ready assuming he excells there.

i watch a lot of clippers games and I have seen Jaric and he is a very good player but he is still a ways away from being a consistent, bonafide NBA player, that only comes with time. Something Milos will be spending over in another league. Next, Milos got a lot of playing time on that team, played as many minutes as Jaric, and as far as anyone not knowing about this team is not correct, that team was already known as a good team and before those games started the buzz was that was the team that could beat team USA.... Right now I don't care if he comes over or not at this point. If he wants to stay another year or 5 that is OK, I am ready to move on, but IMO it is foolish for him not to come over now if he is serious about being a good NBA player.. If I expect to be sucessful playing against the best, then It would make sense to get your feet wet playing against the best, and that is the NBA..

I wonder if the Knicks can buyout his agent. He seems to have to much say in Milos' decision process. Milos would be wise to change his agent as he isn't looking out for Vujanic's interests. If anything if he has a season in Italy and doesn't put up numbers like last year than his agent just screwed him out of his dream to be in the NBA if that is his dream. I know one thing NYK fans will forget him in a heartbeat. Personally I don't think he wants to come to the NBA he is using it as a excuse to drive up his cost in the Euro league. The Knicks should trade his rights away for maybe a player like Arenas he knows the league and will have an immediate impact. I also think that other teams have caught on to Vujanic's and his agent's game and won't give the knicks squat for him. Vujanic has no intention of coming to the NBA its to much of a mans league for him and I think he and his agent know it. Layden should get wise to it if a player doen't want any part of you then there is no point in bringing him to your team. You will just get another disgruntled player who won't give 100% effort ala Roberto Alomar. You gotta have players that want to be here like Lampe and Slavko. I think its time to say to Vujanic and his Agent screw you!

good post vmart: that is why it may be good to trade him now while his stock is still high. You are right, if he has anything less than a stellar year over there, he would just kill his trade value..

So if all this is true why was Layden being ripped for not getting him to the knicks when Milos hasn't shown he is ready for the spotlight of running the point position(hardest pos in NBA) in media crazy NYC. Pike +Tkf YOU GUYS ARE SO FUNNY WITH THE REVERSE OPINION. Milos heart isn't sure he can take on the NBA now. JUST LOOK AT GINOBOLLI HOW HE WAITED TO COME. NUFF SAID!
