The Knicks and Bucks had serious discussions about a trade on Thursday.

Zach Randolph and guard Fred Jones would have gone to Milwaukee in exchange for guard Charlie Bell, forward Bobby Simmons and center Dan Gadzuric, according to a league source

That deal scares me. Supposedly MIL turned us down which is a laugh.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

This is the same BS that has been recycled over the last few months. I am sure Milwaukee is under some extreme pressure (Larry Harris) -top to bottom they are a very talented team (Michael Redd/Bogut/Yi/Villanueva/Ma Williams/ Bell/Mason) and they have had a terrible season. I am getting tired of reading a zillion times in four months how Kohl turned down this deal. Something is fishy - why keep brniging up the same deal EVERY week for the last 10 weeks!! I could care less if Kohl has turned sdown the deal - the deal isdefinitely not good for the Knicks - and thats all that matters.

Why the f**k should the Knicks be a repository of bad contracts and no talent player (we have done fine in that department ) and so I see very little need to continue to add to an obviously bad situation with further bad lateral moves. In that sense - IT s correct- when everyone knows your in trouble - you will get those types of deal - like hey let me take your best player and give you a bag of s**t and long non-expiring contract. This is the pattern for this year- give us Crawford/Randolph or an expiring contract and in return we will give you a heavily overpaid guy with a long term contract. So I think -at least for 1 year - the Knicks should not be in the trade market. The perception is out there - that IT/Knicks are desperate and may actually in their desperation do another bad deal (as if the Curry/Crawford/Q Rich deals weren't bad enough).

Hopefully - we get a genuine ready to play and potential superstar in the draft. Let Marbury/Rose expire and make no further moves. Also - since Marbury is in the last year of his contract (and he has had time to heal from the death of his father and bone spurs) - he may revert back to the same player who led the Kicks to the playoffs in 2004. But basically I think Marbury will play much better next year and finally the team realizes that compared to Marbury - they suck- if after the Philadelphia games, etc - they have to concede they can not handle the ball anywhere near Marbury's capability. This team always thought they were better than they were - the unanimous decision to not let Marbury play is mind-boggling - considering there is not a single player on the Knicks anywhere near as good as Steph. I am sure this season - they all realize that -it was time for every single player on tis team to have a heavy dose of humble pie- and its about time - they start to realize - they are not that good (including Lee).

Marbury epitomized the player who thought he was better than he was, and pinning hopes on him being something special next season epitomizes the desperate and deluded fan who still thinks we have something special in him.

But it's good to see you coming around to realize Isiah has given us NOTHING to be optimistic about (other than Steph, for you).

Blueseats:
It has always been my belief (not that it may have been wrong) - that Marbury was brought into be the lynchpin till the team was rebuilt. As I said earlier -being correct in hindsight is nothing special. Of all deals - I would have to say that the Curry deal (at the time-was the one tat made the most sense-).

Allow me to explain:
The Bulls DID want to resign Curry which is why they signed him to the extension - then the heart issue came up and they even went out on the limb and sad they would pay him 500K for LIFE if he had a genuine heart problem. He turned it down mainly because of the genetic test stuff - which did have some unsavory implications. At the time - he was 22 -had been the Bulls leading scorer and had the highest NBA FG%. Yes- we all know he didn't play defense and that he didn't rebound - Skiles was notorious for pointing that out- but of the two (Chandler/Curry) -Paxson also bet on Curry. At the time - they really felt -he was worth two first round draft picks - just like they felt Wallace was worth 60M over 4 years. At times -he has been (as Frazier would say-Tantalizing) but basically I HAVE to agree with everyone else - he has failed to step up and improve himself in anyway -since he arrived.

But I see no reason to have had any hopes for Crawford/Q Rich. They had been in the league for awhile, had no real pattern of improvement and I can not for the life of me figure out -why -even then -- there could be any perception of future returns (I could see it for Ben Gordon - but not those two).

Marbury is STILL the best player on the Knicks. Whether you look at his numbers/skill level/ consistency of production over the years etc. He is the only guy who was ever an ALL -Star on this team - and still is.
No doubt -he had issues with LB or other coaches or whatever. But the point is -how can professional basketball players FAIL to recognize this. I am not saying Marbury is Kobe/Le Bron etc- but he is still the best player on the Knicks. No doubt this year - was abysmal between his disappointment in not getting a contract extension, his father's untimely demise and the bone spurs- but still - he was and is the Knicks best ball player. I can not understand the mentality of players like Crawford/Robinson/Lee/Balkman etc who actually think otherwise. That said - I hope the players shut up and let him run the team till our draft pick (hopefully OJ Mayo) is ready.

I would have done this. It's addition by subtraction. The salaries are basically even.

I don't blame the players. It's the management that spent 600mm+ acquiring them. If there is NOT one all star after all that money spent---shouldn't that equate new management? I remember quite well when Isiah said he would've taken Frye FIRST in that draft---so to me--with his combinations of failures in player acquisitions via the NBA and draft--would you EVER trust him to make one more move--I mean ever? Isiah Thomas has been the Titanic 2008. James Dolan is worse and he's NOT man enough to speak up when the ship be sinkin --truly a little man in every respect.
