What teams do you consider to be contenders or pretenders?

Contenders: Spurs naturally, Detroit, Boston, LA, Mavs, and Phoenix

Pretenders: NO and Orlando

Pretenders: Every other playoff team
Chicken tenders: New York Knicks
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I see no reason for Boston and Detroit not to be in the ECF but for some reason I could see one of them getting knocked off early (this is not based on any type of facts but just a gut feeling). Which would be a shame bc none of these turkeys in the East belong anywhere near a Conference Finals.

The West is so crazy Mavs,Spurs, and Suns I could see all of going all the way right now it just boils down to whoever is playing the best going into the playoffs.

They're both at risk.

Detroit is at risk b/c they don't taking teams seriously - which I find ironic b/c they won their championship 4 years ago b/c the Lakers didn't take THEM seriously.

Boston needs a backup point guard in the worst way. I don't think Rajon Rondo is gonna cut it for them in the postseason - and they have Eddie House (who's a gunner) backing him up. I don't know if Boston comes out of the East.

I don't see either getting bounced in the first round though. Once again, it depends on who they're matched up with.

Another two reasons why Detroit or Boston could be upset: Flip Saunders and Doc Rivers. The East is so crappy no one has played consistently well for any serious time period. If Clev goes to the Finals again I am officially boycotting all the teams in the East not just the Knicks.

I understand that it's San Antonio but I think people are overrating them this year. If Tony Parker isn't 100% to deal with Kidd, Nash, Paul and Williams, they aren't getting through the West.

San Antonio, Phoenix, and Utah aren't pretenders. The top 6 teams in the West are legit teams. What a conference. East is a pathetic.
