Remember last week, when Isiah Thomas countered our questions about making trades to get younger and going with his younger players? I believe his reply was, "We're already young. I don't think we can get any younger."

Then he turned to a PR staffer for acknowledgement of this fact he attempted to present.

"We're the fourth-youngest team in the league."

According to a database of the opening night rosters, Thomas is wrong again.

With an average age of 26.22 years, the Knicks are the 10th youngest team in the NBA. The youngest team is the Portland Trail Blazers, at 24.07 years, followed by Seattle (25.38), Golden State (25.42), Atlanta (25.51), Utah (25.61), Chicago (25.72), Philadelphia (25.73) and Memphis (25.87).

Four of those teams -- Golden State, Atlanta, Utah and Philadelphia -- are in legitimate contention for a playoff spot. Technically I should count Chicago, too, because they are just a game-and-a-half behind Philly for the final spot in the East. Portland was in the mix until recently. They're four out, which is almost buried in the wild, wild West.

Obviously some of these numbers have changed slightly. Atlanta added 29-year-old Mike Bibby and Golden State added 34-year-old Chris Webber. But they don't skew the numbers enough to change the argument.

And when we talk about the Knicks "youth," you have to consider NBA experience, because they have many players who were early entries to the NBA draft. Curry, for example, came right out of high school. With this in mind, the Knicks actually rank 14th in the NBA in average season experience with 4.80 years, which means there are 16 NBA teams with less.

Out of those 16 teams with less NBA experience, eight of them -- Atlanta, Golden State, Lakers, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Toronto, Utah and Washington -- are contending for a playoff spot.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Why to prove the lier wrong?
Everybody knows Isiah is lier and spin-master.
Nobody (but Dolan) believes him and even Dolan (I guess) is getting suspicious...

I always shake my head when I see Knick fans, especially the chumps at realgm, continually chirp up the words "Isiah has made us younger." Um excuse me? Since when does younger equate to being better? I never received that memo. To say we're younger is not a valid comeback when trying to say something redeemable about Isiah's tenure in NY. Who would you rather have, Tim Duncan or Eddy Curry? Kevin Garnett or Zach Randolph? Steve Nash or Nate Robinson?

Isn't that the implication here- since 6 out of 8 'younger teams are making it to the playoffs ;)

major, with all due respect my friend, you are digging up old stuff. If you go over there, the people, 95% of the real posters over there are sick and tired of Isiah and his spin...just as much as you are.... you call them chumps, but there are some good guys over there, I think you are sampling a lot of kids that post over there man...

"youthier!", its not a fact, but a movement!!!!!!!!

Many of the Early Isiah lovers were starphuched into believing the factorial equation:

Change(trades)=improvement

Its ok to give it 4 years and be of opinion we are better off now then with Layden, but there are little facts to prove it.

At least Layden was not a scumback sextual harasser!!!!!!!

Anything that Isiah says is thrown back at him. How many more ways can he get left with his pants down.

No way. I see the same clowns over at realgm use the "youthier" comeback line at least a couple of times a week. In the beginning of the season, it was almost every day. Yes the majority have not talked about it as much, but I guarantee you if you bring the topic up again, the nutriders will all come out of the woodwork. The biggest clown of all is NoLayupRule.

Nope. But I am someone else over there. I have to steer clear of Spandau and Chitownsports4ever. Those 2 douche bags are on constant lookout. And just yesterday they banned the username I use on the bobcats board. I made the mistake of going back over to the Current Affairs board and that mutherfuker kyphi told Howard Mass that he "suspects" I am majorleads. So they deactivated my account. Funny though, because I didn't even say anything inflammatory, had a different IP address and was just being a regular Republican leaning poster. They have banned every Republican/Conservative poster whose posted there regularly. Harry Palmer, Kyphi, pineappleheadindc and Hank Scorpio...the 4 biggest a-holes in the history of the internet. I hate that prick pinheadindc!!! Such a pompous ass.

So I had a mod at realgm ask Howard Mass what the deal was and he told me that they are on the lookout 24/7 for me over at the Current Affairs board. Unreal. Whats funny is that a-hole Harry Palmer,I learned that he was a mod on some big Houston Rockets forum and they banned his lame ass for stealing members passwords!!! And Howard Mass made that dikhead a global mod at realgm!!!
