I heard while he was in the locker room afterwards he may have gotten a hangnail and is expected to miss the season. A shame.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Brian Cashman really scored big with those 2 stiffs. Pulled a Dolan/Isiah and pissed away 86 million. Throw in another 21 mil on Jaret Wright. 107 million down the drain. Amazing how Cashballs is lauded for being a good GM but he's made just as many big money blunders if not more than Isiah.

It's a different scenario when you make financial mistakes on the richest team in a sport when there's no cap. If there was a cap, those moves would've been killer. Nonetheless, despite the money waste, they haven't really hurt the Yankees that much.

To say it differently, if Isiah was a Yankees GM and employed the same strategy he's been employing, with the addition of being able to sign free agents at will by overpaying, he may have done quite well.

The knock against Isiah is that a large part of your job is adapting to situations. It was already seen that the overpaying strategy doesn't work in the NBA, because of the cap. Isiah never adapted.

Yeah, but at least the Yankees are above .500 and make the playoffs. I have always believed you should maintain your minor leagues and develop there. I mean, that's why you have' them, right? It can be said that of all of the Yankee championships, a great deal of the success has to do with people they have developed in the minors, that got them to where they are today. Storied. And please. I'd take Cashmen ANYDAY' over Isiah. For Pavano and Wright to dissapoint, is a surprise, so you can't really blame Cashmen. As for Dolan/Isiah, you knew what you where going to get in Curry, Starbury and even Jerome, but they took them anyway. That's the real blunder.
I'll never trust this' team again.

That's a good point. But there happens to be a cap and worse, the fact that he has the most money to spend, it's been grossly mis-managed. He put all of his eggs in one basket. A cardinal sin in the financial world.
I'll never trust this' team again.

They're renaming Legends Field in Tampa Steinbrenner Field in honor of Georgey boy. Good gesture. Love him or hate him, Steinbrenner was an influential figure on the game and especially the Yankees. Here is an owner that actually cares about winning. He would get pissed off and curse out everyone after losing one game. Dolan on the other hand chuckles after back to back blowouts.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.
