For those who might think that being 19 games under .500, after just 47 games, might make this a good time to see what the young players have to offer, think again.

"Isiah said Monday he's already playing his young guys, so a transition from playoff push to playing for the future really isn't doable. But when asked if such a transition could mean minutes for the likes of Wilson Chandler and Randolph Morris (in lieu of, say, Quentin Richardson or Malik Rose), he answered, "This is Morris' and Chandler's first year.""

Isiah's got it all wrong, but no shocker there.

If Morris and Chandler actually get some burn next year, then it's techniclly going to be their first year.

Excellent point. Last year we kept hearing about how it was really Frye, Nate and Lee's first year because for some reason, getting all that playing time under Larry Brown wasn't good enough for the then rookies. It was an indictment of Brown.

Now it's ok if Chandler and Morris rot on the bench their rookie years because "it's their first year.

Yet another example of Isiah being a pathetic hypocrite.

Wait, I thought we need Brown fired because he "wouldn't play the rookies" even though as rookies Frye, Nate and Lee got the 4th, 5th and 8th most minutes on the team respectively.

Isiah also needed Brown fired for only producing 23 wins, so he decided to raise the standard with a mere 33.

So I guess if we get the number 1 pick don't expect him to get playing time. I can see it now. Derrick Rose backing up Fred Jones, Mardy, Nate, and Jamal Crawford .

i'm so happy Isiah's taking this opportunity to utilize that "stolen 1st round pick" we got last season in Morris & the other one he used to take Wilson Chandler... good job Zeke.

morris not playing over mrose is sad

At least people are finally dropping out of the delusion that Isiah is a master talent evaluator. To me, this is clear admittance that Isiah has made some poor pickups. On a 14-33 team, if you can't even play "your guys", it signals that these guys aren't nearly as good as Isiah thought. Shame.

It's funny that when Isiah took over he said that there was no way that a non-playoff team like the Knicks could not be playing Sweetney. Then he effectively does the same thing with his own picks.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

playing chandler and morris might jeopardise our 24 win season. I mean, it could be worse. instead of watching fat overpaid vets lose 58 games, we might have to watch young players actually try

I could picture him benching Patrick Ewing or Magic Johnson in their rookie years for the same reason while playing useless vets earning 8 figure salaries!

Isiah's probably pissed he didn't get to sign Shawn Kemp to his final contract extension.

Supposedly he's scouting Scottie Pippen. Stay tuned.

Mucho ridiculoso.

I simply can't believe the stuff that comes out of Isiahs mouth. Q-rich need not leave his house let alone put on his sneakers and try to play basketball.
