Both teams spent the early part of the season getting destroyed by the media and fans. One team goes on to win the SuperBowl. The other goes on to whine all day every day about how nobody loves them and that's the reason why they lose.

When can we rebuild?

Hopefully Dolan goes to the Giants parade and sees what can be possible with a sensible plan for your franchise.

There's one glaring difference the Giants acutally had the talent whereas the Knicks have maybe 2 or 3 guys that are legit NBA starters.

Among a million others

And whose fault is that? After a gazillion dollars spent, shouldn't they HAVE 5 legit starters?

I'm thinking Kansas City Royals- but no- they & other small market teams just spend as little money as possible - and a lot of these small market teams field fairly competitive teams- certainly they have players that hustle instead of whine.

That is a very good question. I can't think if a pro team that is run as horribly as the knicks- I can't even find one close.

Knick team will not be able to break out of this mess until suckers who are responsible for this debacle will not be kicked in the butt and publicly declared THE LOSERS.
They definitely already are THE ULTIMATE LOSERS de-facto but to move on this should be officially recognized.

The diff is night and day. The Giants have great owners in the Mara and Tisch families. Knicks have Jimmy Doh. The Giants had Young, Ernie now Reese. The Knicks have Zeke. It all starts at the top. AND...from the immortal words of Forrest Gump..."Stupid is as stupid does." Jimmy Doh is stupid.

Giants are also a good lesson in addition by subtraction. Who knew how much getting rid of sniveling Tiki Barber would make a difference. But not having him around to spout off to the media and to undermine the leadership of Tom Coughlin and Eli Manning made a huge difference. Giants had exceptional leadership this year and great team chemistry.

I think Shockey will grow up from this. He's all guts out there and just wants to win. He just might not have been the most mature guy. But he was there yesterday and he was probably in the locker room celebrating. And he did play about 14 games this year. He's a huge part of this and will be a big part of this team again next year.

I think he know understands now how important it is to practice with Manning and he'll get it next year.

I agree Des. I think this will effect Shox in a positive way and make him an even better player.
What I want to know is, how many 2TE sets are the Giants going to be running next year? It's almost a crime if Boss doesn't get enough snaps, he's a damn good looking TE.

They run the two TE set a lot. You'll see plenty of Boss. Shiancoe was never a good enough reciever, but now we're gonna be dangerous. Boss is still raw as hell...this is just the beginning of his potential.

Continuity

The difference between the Knicks and Giants franchises is not a mystery.

One franchise was founded by a passionate and dictatorial Wellington Mara who maintained the Giants as a singularly owned franchise and not a corporate entity. For better or worse, the Giants have absorbed the blows and stayed true to the original vision of the Mara family dating back to a time before any of us were born.

Unfortunately, the Knicks are an expensive toy that has been passed around and wound up in hands of Cablevision.

Whatever changes are next for the Knicks, Iam not confident in those in the boardroom making the decisions .

There are obviously a lot of differences between the two teams. I was just focused on how the two teams handle the media.

we need misterearl. he always had a dream for sale, and the price was right, all you had to do was believe.

misterearl, we miss you. tell us again about how complete the mayor's game was in summer league, and how confident was mardy collins' demeanor. i'm losing faith in our future. a team of nate, balkman, lee and z looks not better than zach's 23 win portland teams. bring back the old days. call me a "cry baby" and assure me i lack foresight.

the dream is fading , i need another dose (and i don't mean of reality). please misterearl, don't tell me the dream machine is out of stock. tell us how the giants got off to a bad start and snuck into the post season and got hot at the right time. tell us our guys still believe. tell us how isiah just needs a chance to fulfill his vision. put the wheels of spin in motion again... we need to be taken for a ride now more than ever.

Here is another difference...

with the Knicks...we are continually looking for trades and trying to fill holes and deficiencies. The Giants are going for Best Available Player come draft day. The Jints have no holes to plug.
