If McDyess isnt going to be healthy this year

or

If Lampe isnt coming over this year.

Besides this we should not trade our core players (Thomas, Sprewell, Houston) just for the sake of trading.

I believe in the old school way of building a winner. That is, growing together for a couple of years and adding key pieces here and there. IF, McDyess comes back and averages only 14 ppg, its a whole different ball game. Three legitimate scoring options, one of which is a low-post scorer with fourth coming off the bench is a winnner, period.

If Lampe and/or McDyess DONT play this year then entertain trades. Lets not trade just to trade.

Haven't we learned our lesson from the Ewing trade!!

You got a fever or something? Spreewell, Houston, Eisely, Anderson, Spoon, these guys aint growin my friend. I always thought to build a winner you were supposed to let young talent with upside grow together and then augment the team thru free agency and trades. Not litter your team with players who are running on the downhill side of their careers. And I certainly do not consider giving All-Star dollars to beyond mediocre talents like Anderson and Eisely old school, but I guess I’m just crazy like that.

You’re right, we can’t trade just to trade, how on earth could Knicks fans survive without Othella Harrington?

Look at what i wrote closely. I was referring to the core of the team that was part of the winning '99 season, THOMAS, SPREE, HOUSTON. Making stupid trades is what breakes teams and renders them useless for decades. If we are going to trade lets trade up instead of down and lets concentrate on the deadweight first before we even think about moving productive players like, and i'll say it again so you wont get confused, HOUSTON, SPREE, and to a lesser extent THOMAS.

maybe so, but maybe not. the clips need vet help, but spree's trade value has hit bottom, and his contract is fat.

Guys don't have a clue, all those teams that gut all their vets are still playing like do do and fans like you will continue talk about wait until they get older . That's when salary cap kicks in and some of the young core will go to other teams to ball for somone else. You must have vets with youth to bring together a winner. Sebstar man slow ya roll G.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

True, but sometimes false. A good mix of youth and veterans make a great team. Fostering youth is great because there's so much potential production by a young team, but young teams can also be a disaster. It takes predominantly young teams a long time to become winners (i.e. the Chicago Bulls).
