Watching him make a wide open dunk in the Utah game was painful to watch. He could barely eek it over the rim. I didn't see him play much prior to the Knicks....was he always like this? I know he can move his feet pretty well for a guys his size, but he doesn't seem to be able to get off the ground. Has he had an injury that has killed his vert?

Thank you.
I had a good laugh at some suggestion the other day that he should start at center.
He blows.

No he's always been this bad- that's why I was arguing against him so hard when we signed him. He struggles to make layups. He has been the worst regular offensive player in the NBA for some years running- b/c he's also a historically bad FT shooter.

That's not true... he was Big Ten MVP and a second team All American.

The scouting report then sounds almost like it does now:
Positives: Jeffries is a freak of nature. He does everything well, but nothing great -- yet. He can score, rebound, block shots, run the floor, handle the rock and dish it to an open teammate. One of those rare players who has the ability to play comfortably on both the perimeter and down low. Very intelligent and disciplined. Think a more athletic Danny Manning.

Obviously, the guy is nowhere near the same stratosphere as Danny Manning. I know Washington fans feel like they got robbed a little with the Jeffries pick because he got injured his rookie season... I forget what it was, but apparently his shot was completely effed after that. So, now, he's essentially mediocre at everything (because he hasn't improved) and regressed in his ability to score. This makes him worthless.

Jared is terrible but the dude can still make wide open shots inside. He caught a left handed dunk last night as well.

A few years ago the dude had a play of the year dunk where totally owned that player he jammed it on. It was vicious. I'll try to find it.

Its funny....when you google Jared Jefferies pics mor pics come up from other people totally unrelated to him.....or are they?

Anyway.......remember this?

The report was that he was working on his game hard as hell to try to finally emerge as the scorer he once was....saying he was still young and not reached his full potential.

You know its easy to laugh at that but Jared does have the ability. Too bad he's mentally retarded.

pretty good analysis, and he also led Indiana to the NCAA finals if I am correct...

Yep... that team was considered "A Team of Destiny" but lost to that great, great Maryland team I know you remember, being the ACC fan you are.

I never had a problem with Jared's athleticism. To me that and his length are the only things keeping him in the game. It's the rest of the things that worry me.

actually I am a die hard Big east fan, growing up ST Johns, G'town and Boston College were my favorites. But I remember that game well, Maryland had Dixon and wilcox, along with steve blake I think... wilcox was a beast, and lonny baxter was a load down low too... Indiana was just overmatched...

My bad... I thought you switched to the ACC when you moved to GT country. I'm a Johnnies fan too, I started following the ACC more closely than the Big East though... because when I got to DC, following Georgetown just seemed too disgusting to me.

I like GT, but I am a Big East fan. Now I do root for South Carolina in the SEC, but that is because a lot of my family graduated from there, Two aunts, and uncle went there, My baby sis graduated from there, and my wife went there...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see all the hatters on this site hattin' on a Knick player yet again. Why don't all you hatters go become Celtics fans?

When Isiah does a trade or salary minimum signing, he always brings in an awesome talent like Jeffries. It's just taking a little while for him to settle in and develop chemistry with the other guys. The Jeffries signing is right up there with the other fantastic players Isiah has brought in. Hardworking players like Jerome James. Passionate players like Eddy Curry. Great team leaders with high emotional intelligence like Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis.

Need I say more? I didn't think so. You all know how I feel about this team. Isiah has brought together a great bunch of guys that just need a little time to gel. Once they gel into a large, gloutinous mass, they will be like the blob descending on other teams and devouring the basketball.

Mark my words.

He's a younger Malik Rose - high IQ/minimum talent guys that are absolutely worthless on a bad team and serviceable as fill in the blanks, role players on a good team.

jj2 impressed zeke with his playoff performance right before zeke signed him. he would have spurts in games of dominating the floor defensively - it's true, i remember seeing it. he was all over the place. and quite competent doing the dirty work on offense, including the glass. but again, just for spurts each game, and based on that isiah gave him what, 30 mill? it was just like the jj1 signing off his playoff performance. except that that singing, unlike the jj2, was a stroke of genius.
