Magic Johnson: Knicks Will Make Playoffs
January 31, 2008 - 6:43 am
New York Daily News -
Isiah Thomas is not the only person who thinks the Knicks have a shot of making it to the playoffs. Now Magic Johnson, the guy who the New York Daily News says recommended Thomas to run the Knicks to executive Steve Mills, says that there is no way that New York will miss out on post season action this season.

"They're going to make the playoffs and be a tough seven or eight seed," Johnson said. "They're settling into their roles. There's no way I don't see them not getting in as the seven or eight seed, especially in the East."

No- Magic was the first choice for this job and he rejected the offer. He went ahead and told Steve Mills to ask Isiah to see if he wanted the job.

Thats what scares me Des. Magic was the 1st choice last time and now if Isiah gets fired, Dolan could convince Magic by throwing even more money at him than he did last time. I can't help but think that Magic rejected the offer last time because he thought he might be able to get a better job. 4 years later, Magic is still doing work with TNT once in a blue moon.

Magic is a turd. I appreciate him sticking up for his boy and trying to settle us fans.....but please STFU.

Isiah has this team. He won't start Nate, he won't play Chandler. He refused to run plays for the guards until reciently. He traded for Zach for why and what?......Jerome and Jones are here for what? Why isn't Mardy in the D-league?

Why Magic? Answer that or just stfu.

Thank you!

And Magic- if Isiah is doing such a great job- surely the Lakers must be interested in trading for some of our players not named Lee & Balkman. Maybe you guys want Zach? We won't ask for Bynum- we'll gift him to you, and heck, if you want to send us a late second rounder in 2015, that would be mighty nice of you...

Magic owns 5% of the Lakers. His real estate company and holding company has done some pretty good work developing in inner city and appreciated very well.

Look up what he has done, its pretty impressive. The guy is not sitting doing nothing. Far from it.

I'm talking about having a job in the NBA though Nalod. I thought Magic wanted another one but couldn't get one he wanted after the debacle with the Coaching/Pres of the Lakers. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I don't think Magic was interested in being an NBA exec anymore.

I hope not. I want him nowhere near this franchise.

Magic needs to keep track of his commentary on our team.

Last yr he said "The Team Goes As Marbury Goes", in particular when asked if we were a playoff team, hence the reason he decided to openly state on air he would have a sit down with Marbury to talk about his game.

Well we didn't make the playoffs last yr and Marbury folded-maied it in last 25gms of the season. We never heard from Magic again, once I SAY UGH job was safe.

This yr Marbury derailed it 5gms in. I SAY UGH has major turmoil this yr even worst than last yr and who comes out of the woodwork again?

But we're supposed to take Magic Theaters seriously!

Hey Magic I got some advice for you.....

Make sure the Lakers keep the leash tight on Kobe, while Bynum misses another 4weeks. Try not to slip into the 8th spot while Kobe goes back to Sega Genesis NBA JAM mode.

Magic is just saying that if the Knicks miss the playoffs again even he will have to admit Isiah is a disaster.

Magic is just about publicity and he is helping Isiah and the league with his hype.

Remember, NBA announcers sound credible because they create controversy and are critical in hindsight. Players, coaches and management just tell the public what they want to hear.

With the knicks, because of the code of silence we don't know the truth.
