Memphis: the Gasol saga has gone on for years, its not working, perhaps they think that Curry in a different environment plus Lee makes sense, a core of Conley-Miller-Gay-Lee-Curry is young and full of potential, plus you've got Lowry & maybe somebody like Deandre Jordan in the next draft

Knicks: Gasol would be the 1st piece that we can build on going fwd, you'd still need a lot, but a team w/the following has some hope for the future (hope to not be what it is now).

C: Gasol
PF: Zach
SF: Balk, Donta Greene
SG: Craw
PG: Nate + we need to find a way to get a mid 1st rounder to get a pass 1st PG like Augustin, Collison, Lawson (this is assuming we aren't lucku enough to get Derrick Rose)

They have no interest in taking that deal they would be better off doing PJ Brown, Ty Thomas and Noah with Chicago getting some cap room and then looking to add someone like Elton Brand in the offseason

No one is going to take Q rich. He will be the next J. Rose- when his contract either expires or is bought out- I doubt -anyone will play or sogn him. He needs to get it together - because at this point - he worth less than a discarded Banana peel.

Although Gasol is a very nice player- he hasn't figured out how to play in the post--still!! No way - would I be interested in acquiring him. I could see - giving up Lee/Balkman for a Rudy Guy- a scorer -who is improving and actually MAKES 5-15 foot jumpshots- even possibly a Hakeen Warrick - who would give us everything Lee does but is a better athlete and can block shots.

I like the trade but I agree that they probably not take QRich. We would probably have to exchange Malik for Q for that to happen

Yeah, I think we'd have to include our unprotected pick to get it done.

Oh Please, we're soft already as a team. Why make it worse with Gasol.

does he block a lot of shots? no
do we already have a player who pretty much does the same thing he does on offense? yes
is he a defensive minded player? not really
does he have 1 of the largest contracts in the NBA? yes

looks like he makes perfect sense for the NY Knicks.

Gasol blocks almost 2 shots per game for his career.

Yeah, Gasol does block shots and would be the best two-way player on our team since Ewing (which is sad). He's not a stud on D by any means but I think he has a positive net impact on D.

I'd contend that Gasol is a bit of an upgrade defensively over Curry (though obviously not drawing any comparisons to Mark Eaton) & that they'd take The QBrick contract b/c they're getting Lee & unloading Cardinal's contract.

average that out to the amount of games he's actually healthy & the investment in dollars is simply not worth it for me... D Lee or Zach could easily give u the offensive production that he does... we need a defensive beast down low... Gasol isn't it.
