The focus on the rest of the year is deciding on whether Jamal and Nate are a viable backcourt. For the month of January they looked like one. Neither are true PG's but both are capable of filling the role. I still would add a third guard to rotate in- someone like Raja Bell would be perfect- a stout defender who can shoot the 3.
But look at Nate's A/To lately. I can tell a lot of people aren't really watching the Knicks lately (and for good reason), but Nate has been shockingly good.
You know, the current rotation of Collins/fred and Craw starting with Nate works. Nate has been doing it off the bench......yet finishing games and always out there when the Knicks are playing their best ball. Maybe that works......
I just want guys to acknowledge the fact that this isn't your Larry Brown, fighting in the shower Nate. This guy is an effiecient player. He has been ball hawkin a lot, but nobody is gonna average 5 steals a game even if they are as good a pest as Mugsy was. Not even Alvin Robertson averaged more than 3 steals.
The guy can shoot.....he is arguably the fastest player in the league period........speakin of which......anybody remember the play where Nate totally burned Stephen Jackson on his way to blowing a fast break layup? It looked fake. He blew the lay-up cuz he thought Jackson was right behind him. That dude was still trying to catch him about 5-6 steps back. He's becoming my favorite player. The guy is a ball of muscle.
