Jon puts his foot down by claiming the 9th pick was really bad without offering any alternatives. He also equates Lampe's likelyhood of not being able to play in NY because of contract reasons with Milos' explicit decision not to want to play in NY as the same thing. ...And this dude is a professional writer.

Reading the Vaccaro article, i have to admit that hes able to write a article without any content or context at all!
Isnt the draft about "talent", "projects", "future" and therefore about some BIG gambles!?!
Well i give him that, we dont know about the developement Lampe and Vranjes will take in the next 2-3 years, but they are NO bigger projects than any other 2nd round pick ever!
So of course todays Knicks are a LOT different from yesterdays, because they got some new assets to play with and a future that seems a lot brighter as we got something to hope for!!!

Mike Vaccaro needs to be shot and hung by his...well you know...a mussolini job. This kid has his ears tickled for the last month or so, and the situation doesn't work out. It said he was in tears. And what does this hack do? Critize him and belittle him, calling him a "Pole" a WWII slur of all things. This guido (hey, if he can use pole, I can use guido) needs to get his head out of his arse long enough to realize that this guy isn't a folk hero like he thinks the crowd believed him to be, he is just a kid trying to make a life for himself in the game that he loves. The crowd was behind this kid that no one wanted because he was an underdog. NY loves underdogs (Knicks included). Kudos to the fans at the Theatre for trying to support this kid in his time of distress. That's what true New Yorkers do. unlike this retard.

Screw Vaccaro, and above all screw that rag the Post. I can't believe that smut rag is still in business.

Also, saying that we know nothing about this guy. This kid has been poked and prodded by every draft scout in the NBA and all of them say the same thing. He is a lottery talent. Sure I haven't seen him play but you need to trust the experts if you don't know anything about it. If not, we would be picking kids from our neighborhood.

Hey, why doesn't he say the same thing about Darko or any of the HS kids. The lottery is about feeling a need and upside. I beleive we accomplished both with this pick.

Yea, I didn't get the visceral feeling like I did last year, I guess that's a good sign.

Like Sweetney, don't love him. To me he looks like a Tractor Traylor clone. Lampe at 30 is A STEAL, but time will tell what he does with the Knicks. And any player who is young, stands at 7'4 and is a center will definately help the Knicks in the future.

Question: Other than the Knicks, who do you think made out well in the draft?

They traded Otis Thorpe for Darko!

They got Delfino a Ginobli clone.

They got a 7'1" center with the last pick of the draft.

Hmm...i always heard my grandma talk about Polish ppl using "Pole" but she often preceded and end it with a curse of some sort. Then she just used "Pole" to describe them and I associated it with being a curse. If it isn't, my bad. But, still, i don't think Vaccaro meant to say it nicely. I sense a discust for anything foreign within him.
