"Best" SF in the Knicks roster since Van Horn...

This thread is really sad, I know, but it shows once again how bad have we been in that position for the past years. I dare to say that since Van Horn (or since Tim Thomas turned into Fugazy) we have been the worst team in the league in that position. My vote goes WITHOUT ANY DOUBT to Qyntel Woods. To me he was talented and his attitude was never bad during his time with us. He was athletic, he could score, he could pass, he could rebound... all those things that our current SF's cant do at the same time. He is doing fine in Europe averaging 12 pts and 4.3 boards in 23 minutes of action. Tim Thomas would be second, he was a good player during his first half season in the Knicks and then he was totally useless for us. Quentin Richardson. I never liked him in Phoenix but of course not even in my worst nightmares I thought he could be so terrible. Jared Jeffries. This guy is just barely talented enough to be in this league. He tries but he cant do anything especially well and his basketball IQ (which supposedly was one of his strong points) has disappointed me. The guy is almost useless. Renaldo Balkman. A better version of Jeffries, because his level of intensity is very high and rarely tries things that are out of his reach. He is our best SF right now, which is not saying much. I think he is a useful bench player. It is terrible that considering all of this, a SF is FAR from our being one of our priorities to make this team better...
Tim Thomas
Qyntel Woods
Quentin Richardson
Jared Jeffries
Renaldo Balkman

Qyntel wins by a landslide.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Q-dog all the way.

I think the dude might just be a victom of the NBA blacklist.......I say that cuz even though Isiah didn't re-sign him, nobody else did either.

Hopefully the dude can find his way back. More than likely he's gonna have to become Anthony Parker for a few years to prove it......that's some bull****.

Is the question

Most productive or most talented.

Most talented I'd have to say Tim Thomas. Most productive in all aspects of the game, Qyntel Woods. That's pretty pathetic.

Rule no.1 of starting polls. Never make a poll where Tim Thomas is the answer to "best" anything!

Matt Barnes can't get no love today?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

This is sad.

However, I also know most Knicks fans were happy when we got Tim Thomas. I was in a slim minority which stated what a mistake it was to bring that loser to the Knicks and we wouldn't get nearly the production Van Horn gave us in any aspect of the game. Almost nobody listened.

Now are we actually lamenting over the fact that we haven't had anyone as good as Keith Van Horn since? This is way overdue. Moves like this where instead of evaluating talent, people only looked at who was the most athletic were shared by Isiah Thomas. That perception is the reason why we are where we are.

I'm glad the majority are finally opening their eyes. Athletic players are great, but you need a lot more than pure athleticism to win in the NBA.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

"Toot toot"......is that you solace?

I think everyone was annoyed with the KVH trade. The Knicks were winning with what they had and didn't need that trade. If anything I think more of us were in shock than anything.

The KVH trade hurt team chemistry. But KVH himself has shown himself to be a bust. This was a sideways trade where we stayed level at SF, improved C, but lost chemistry. All in all, it probably ranks as one of Isiah's best moves, if only because there have been so many worse ones.

At the time I was posting, when the trade first happened, almost everyone was happy with it. People did not start to comment on the chemistry until we started losing at a much higher rate the next season.

I don't think any of us knows what would've happened had KVH stayed. We all admit he took things more personally than other players, hence the "soft" label. My guess is that getting traded when he was playing great really hurt his confidence. I'm not convinced that had he been able to stay with the Knicks that things wouldn't have worked out quite differently for his career.

Shandon Anderson is better than Q right now. As far as TT, at least he knew how to knock down the 3. I rather ask Johnny Newman to come out of retirement than have Q on the team right now.

I really wish Q would turn it around. If his shots aren't falling then he needs to drive. That way he can get back his confidence.

Well, I don't mean to brag but I dicovered america first but the big wigs at AOL Time Warner over ruled me and gave it Columbus.......well Columbus got the fame and that "America" dude got the name. I still say "Enyvania" would of been better, but they said it was too "Pop". Freakin scumbags.

After the KVH trade, Nazr was a more productive player than KVH or TT actually. That trade worked out fine, even though most of Isiah's don't work out.
