Problem is he's likely to be playing for the other team that'll be here since his best buddy, Jay-Z, is part of the ownership.

It's just you. LBJ's going to BK. The Knicks only hope is that Barclay's never gets built.

Strange story. Why would Nike do that?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

STARBURYS HIT CLEARANCE SHELVES

By MARC BERMAN

January 21, 2008 -- Talk about symbolism. Stephon Marbury's Starbury sneaker line is selling now at a cut-rate $7.99 in a special winter clearance at most Steve & Barry's outlets. The Starburys, which have received national acclaim, are normally priced at an already basement price of $14.98. Steve & Barry's have never disclosed Starbury sales.

Marbury's season could be over because of ankle surgery to repair chronic bone spurs, scheduled to take place tomorrow. Marbury's contract with the Knicks New York Knicks ends after the 2008-2009 season but his contract with Steve & Barry's expires this summer. Marbury had planned to branch out so his Starburys could be sold at more locations. His ambition of playing in Italy after his contract expires partly stems from having his Starburys go international.

Isiah Thomas has thrown Marbury under the bus regarding the ankle surgery, saying it was Marbury's decision and he “didn't notice" him being effected by he injury in his final game 10 days ago vs. Toronto. Thomas believes Marbury could have postponed the surgery to see if rest and treatment would alleviate the pain.

Marbury said yesterday he had “no comment" to Thomas' remarks. Marbury, whose jersey is the NBA Store's ninth-best-seller, is experiencing the most trying time of his personal and professional career, having lost his father and seeing his once-close relationship with Thomas become smashed.

Then maybe I was mistaken about Kobe, because he used to push the same kind of thing, even years ago. So is it safe to say that any superstar who is sucking up to New York, it's just to try and hit the market here? Kind of sad, but we do' have the official NBA Store on 5th, don't we!

So here's a theory. Maybe superstars don't' want to play in New York, because they want to avoid the pressures and media, but at the same time, hit our market?!! Does that make any sense to any of you? Does it hold any water. It's an interesting thought. And if it's true, what does that mean for the Knicks organization? I mean, this is what it sounds like to me.

Well, LeBron does love NY and is pandering in advance of his obvious setup to come here when he's a free agent. He just doesn't want to play for the Knicks. Brooklyn is New York and probably without all the headaches of the Dolan owned Knicks. More Nets live in NYC than Knicks do anyway.

Kobe would have strongly considered the Knicks if the Knicks were under the cap and could offer him anything close to what the Lakers did and if he didn't catch that case. The only player who obviously and blatantly used the Knicks was Reggie Miller back when he was a free agent. No one's as bad as Phil Jackson though.

Superstars like LeBron don't mind the pressure and the media. Bitches like Steph, Isiah and Eddy do. Pat might have complained about it every now and then but he understood it and handled it his own way. Even Allan didn't bitch about the fans and media the way these never-won-anything little girls do. Spree loved it.

I may be the only person to notice this, but Marbury has trouble getting along with coaches.
I just hope that people will like me

Lebron loves the Yankees. He hasn't said anything about the Knicks. He probably wants to be a Knick about as much as I want to be castrated!

Some moron over at REALGM was bragging how he spent $100 at the store buying mostly Starbury gear. One of the worst gimmicks of All-Time IMO. Kind of ironic his career has rapidly declined, since the introduction of the line along with Ben Wallace having a down yr. When the motives are questionable and not 100% proof one reaps what he sows as the old scriptural passage goes.

LOL @ anyone who owns, whoever bought, or intends to buy any of his line of product.

He's also on part of Jay-Z Dynasty movement. He'll probably sign with the Nets as long as Jay-Z remains in basketball, a top entrepreneur, and stays marketable. ROTFLOL if it comes down to us not having the means because of Randolph's contract still being on the books.

I think there was something on ESPN - about how this was a play by Nike for the Yankees (since Adidas is the official sponsor). I mean - a nice way to get around the sponsorship deal - by having your main guy bring out Yankee style shoes.

And why is there a Yankee style shoe, being put on by a professional basketball player, and one who doesn't play anywhere near New York? What is the concept in all of this? It's just weired. I mean was this the best marketing gimmick Lebrons people could come up with? To make it even stranger, Lebron says the #23 is to commemorate 'Don Mattingly'?! I thought he had the #23 because of Michael Jordan? Maybe the Cleveland fans have a point.

I think something has to be said about pride here. Next thing you'll know 'some professional professinal hockey player, from Colorado, will be trying to endore a hockey helmet (in Florida) that commemorates.............Eli Manning!!!

I ask again 'is it just me'?
I'll never trust this' team again.
