We got size(LAMPCE), we got a low post threat(Sweetney) who will live at the free throw line and we have a guy who can dunk without jumping(VRANES) NY UNDER CHANEY WILL TURN HEADS AROUND AND KEEP POSTAS WATCHING THE KNICKS GAMES THIS YR. We had no size and almost made playoffs last yr. How many times did we allow guys to freely come up the gut of our defense and nobody stepped up to stop them? I guarantee you Sweetney is not having it and that kid(LAMP) will get bought out because this is NY and stern will allow us to pull some strings. I Love NY

Only problem is Layden picked 2 euro's and so far his track record of getting them to actually play IN ny hasnt been so hot. I think Lampe will eventually come, I dont know about Vranes. I dont see Lampe making it here in time for this season though (I would love Layden to prove me wrong). Sweetney is ok, he was really the best available - I think Collison will be a stiff.

Nick Collison is the second coming of Eric Montross. 'Nuff said.

Chad Ford said the teams who passed on Lampe made a mistake because Lampe does have a buy-out clause this year and it will cost $1.8m. He said that the Knicks will likely buy out his contract.

I think it would actually better for Lampe's game to stay in Europe another year. He and Milos will come next year after Wards and Spree's contracts expire.

Remeber the article that was posted that mentioned Lampe getting absolutely no coaching attention from the team in Europe. I'd like to see him in NY next year.

no i want to start developing him now. He could split minutes at the 4 and 5. The younger they play in the nba the better. He shouldnt affect sprees minutes, and will most likely backup kurt or play the 4 with sweetney & spoon.

Andrew... he was playing on a second division team... a minor league team. I'd rather him step up slower, play in game situations for a year at college level + (top level euro league). The only way I get him over here now is if he isn't going to get minutes for Real Madrid.

He probably should stay another year, but if he can come in and contribute next year, we need him here.

On Wfan they had the knicks european scout on the radio and he said there is a pretty good chance that both players could be on the knicks roster this year. also chaney was on and he didnt exactly say but beat around the bush and said there will some changes made more in a trade than a free agent.

Dirk Nowitzki has had only played in Germans second league before he went to Dallas and he still got 8pts and 3.5reb a game as a rookie!
So lets wait and see everything is possible! He should at least get some serious consideration about next year!

rain, according to this old interview with Lampe there doesn't seem to be much love between Lampe and Real Madrid. I think we will see all 3 picks on the Knicks roster next year. See ya Postel, Nailon and Pope.

Knicks have some pieces to help out an overacheving roster from last yr. Lamp and Sweetney got chips on their shoulders. Lamp , because GM'S let him drop and took away his money. Sweetney because he already played in big east and is used to the garden crowd and will punish guys down low and if doubled will kick out to teamates who led the league in 3 pt shooting last yr.

Anyone else see the irony in the title “we have lift off” for a team with no athletic leapers who can dunk the ball, and a #1 draft pick who falls right in line with that tradition. It remains to be seen whether Sweetney will punish other power forwards, or punish us Knicks fans with his non athleticism. I am interested in seeing someone other than Spoon or Othella man the power forward spot, but calm down on Sweetney will ya.

Sweetney has done what the other two fail to do " Demand" A double team in post, that alone creates excitment in knicks camp.

1) Real Madrid is not interested in keeping Lampe, they already got a replacement for him ( and btw, they always have listed him as a center, not a sf )
2) According to the insider, the Celtics and Knicks are in fact negotiating a trade for Walker, but the trade being discused is KT + Ward + Spoon/Thella for Walker! I suppose that several picks should be included to make it work...

I don't care where i got it from , i know where i got it from. What is the big deal, knowledge is knowledge. Most get their opinions from someone else anyways and then come in here and post. Nobody is at these camps or gyms so what are you saying. Props to el cantor, who cares!
