1. We can't live with the Jones Richardson Jefferies Balkman tandrum as role players. Way too much offensive innefiency. On good teams you need role players --not necesarily every night--step up and have some kind of offensive impact. This also plays to the theory of having a PG get some easy shots for these guys.
2. I think that we should start David Lee for Curry. I think Curry can get his 19-6 off the bench and use Lee as a guy who will give us more defense and energy into the starting line up where we get off to so many rough starts. There is no shame coming of the bench--it's not a demotion--simply it might be putting a player in his best position to have the most success to help the team win. No one can ignore how many times we've been down 10+ points in a game. We've been lucky to change momentum[very likely a sign of the other team letting down] in a few of our wins and comebacks. Put the core problem is BEING DOWN 10 POINTs to many times. I think changing Lee and Curry is the start of the help there.

If I acknowledge this is what I have in a 9 man rotation

C-Lee
F Randolph
F
G J Crawford
G
C Curry
F Jefferies
G
G Nate

I need two guards and a F. I think that unless I can get a pure bonafide out of the draft--I may be willing to look into trading the pick like the Celtics did. I would like to see if we can fill one of these positions at the trade deadline using Jones Balkman CollinsChandler Morris[because we are not doing anything with these players--it would be one thing if we heard they were training with Bernard King's or Walt Fraizers daily and hiring a trainer etc... and get SOME PT but I hear 0 so to me so I can only equate them as expendable assets.

We are still miles away BUT I think we can salvage some things here IF we can add some really good pieces to the outline above and get away from players who are not bringing enough to the table.

The need to play atleast one defensive big in the front court to be a good team in the future. And the prospects of getting a player that turely works with Lee seems to be the least likely of them all. Even the greatest big of the 2000's Tim Duncan needs a Forward that is bigger then him or can hit some jumpshots. The prospects of finding a Center that allows Lee to start seems to be the lowest to me, seeing as that player needs to be better Offensively, Defensively and able to bang the other teams biggest front court player. Yao, Bynum, Stoudimere(maybe Bogat and Hawes) are the only players I can come up with. They were all top 10 picks and franchise centers.(as of right now)

I think a Move of Lee for Oakfor or Brand(with other peices) is maybe something the knicks should look into.

When you look at our team one thing that stands out is a total lack of perimeter shooting. We really live and die with Jamal and Nate now. We can't depend on Lee, Q, Jared, Jones, Balk, etc. That's just too many players who can't consistently hit a jumper. Lee is getting better, but he's got a long way to go in order to be a real threat.

Most of us clearly identified what Isiah needed to add, we can't get to the next level without some serious improvement at SF and more help at PG & SG too. We of course need a shotblocker, but that goes without saying.

I agree briggs, but playing lee at center to start, may wear him down and keep him in foul trouble... Nate should be the spark off the bench, but why not this year, see if morris and chandler can play? why not? I mean we are what 13-28 or something like that.... what is there to lose, you see if chandler can play SF and morris center and if they can't, then we are in position for the lottery anyway...

Everything is going to be just fine. Captain Isiah just needs to take his bearings. I really feel that the Ship of Knicks will weather the storm and reach port safely.

Craw and Zach don't have terrible contracts. They aren't untradable given the way that they are playing.

Big Ben for Zach would have to come with some added benefit for the Knicks for me to make that trade.

Same with Craw for someone like VC.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Curry has waaaay too many motivational problems as it is when he starts, doesn't have the right mindset to handle not starting. Like having a porcelain doll as center.

I'd start him at least until the trade deadline has passed and if he's still here reevaluate.

Either draft a pure point (Rose, Augustin, ..?) or acquire one via trade, most glaring need if you ask me.

1. Pure Point
2. Shotblocker
3. Perimeter defender

4. Dependable shooter
