I have a source who told me right after the raptors game... and I quote: "Marbury is ready 2 give up, mark my words, he's going to come up with a phantom injury soon. He's going to find a way to sit out for the rest of the year, he's quitting"

Days later what happens?

Read between the lines on all marburys quotes about the surgery(they are very defensive for no reason) and isiahs quotes (seems to be passivly questioning the injury and the decision)

Anyways what a shame steph decided to do the fans and the organization like this, he has truely failed to live up to the standards set for a NEW YORK KNICK. He is not a true Knick in my book never will be. And its a shame cuz I wish he could have been a great one. I guess he just couldent take the pressure.

I agree but its still just shameful and sad

If this is true, it doesn't make me mad at Marbury. It suggests that he is more perceptive about the situation than some of us might have guessed.

agree w/crzym... we shouldn't have expected any less from this guy... the sooner he's gone the sooner we can move on & start to rebuild... his mere presence here is a negative to everyone associated w/this franchise.

This guy makes 20 MILLION dollars a year to feel sorry for himself and QUIT. What a waste of a roster spot this guy is. ISIAH should be fired for this guy ALONE.

It's been coming for awhile. This summer clinched it that he was pretty much done.

Part of the reason I will still maintain is Isiah's unwillingness to choose a path and stick with it. He brought Marbury here to be Starbury. He was given control for a little more than half a season that produced a playoff berth.

Since then he was asked to change his game and when Crawford came around Isiah then most definitely pegged Crawford as the #1 option offensively in both scoring and ball control (I laugh at people today on RealGM talking about Crawford 'about to become' the starting PG when he's BEEN the damn PG for three years now lol) ---- and in doing so Steph was asked even more to change his game. I don't know why. It made no sense to take a high percentage shooting guard and take the ball out of his hands and give it to a streaky gunner - then ask that high percentage guard to turn into Eric Snow or ELSE. Seriously, wtf?

I think Steph became more and more disinterested and then tempers flared with coaches and the downward spiral continued for over two full seasons before this past summer he just fell apart mentally.


It's just time to buy him out. I don't know what we're waiting for. Does Isiah think that he can get Kobe Bryant or LeBron James for Marbury's 09 expiring over the summer? I mean, come'on.

Outside of that insanity there's no reason to keep him here. Buy him out.
