and honestly, I'd try to trade him at the deadline to a contender and get back an ending deal and at least 2 first rounders. I don't think his value will ever be higher.

As a sixth man on a contender, he can be a difference maker- look at stackhouse on dallas- and his deal honestly isn't that bad.

he's the leader of this team and since he's been here it's been the same - he scores 20pts on 50% shooting and we're tough to beat.

rather than ship him, why not try to compliment him. he has chemistry with Curry. and Fred Jones compliments him in that he can cover for Craw's shoddy D. we need a big defensive SG and a better SF and let Craw do his thing.

either that or blow it all up.

This is the same old story. We're tough to beat when Crawford plays well. While an interesting fact, it's not the common scenario. The more common scenario is Crawford chucks up shots like they're going out of style and forgets to play defense. When he plays like that, it's hard to win. Compliment Crawford? No. Crawford is not anywhere close to the kind of player you build around. He's perhaps sixth man quality, but don't even talk about complimentary players for Chuckford.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Larry Brown liked Crawford. And Phil Jackson has always liked him. Craw moves the ball. He can be a winning player, but I agree it's a horrible idea to have him be the focal point. that's asking for a 40% winning pct.

Right Curry and Randolph...41 pts 16 boards...

The game has moved away from being a center oriented game...The presence of Zach and Curry on the insides helps Craw and Nate to take good open looks on the outside..But something tells me you don't care...

"He (Crawford) is playing lights-out basketball right now. He is becoming a big time player in this league, the way he is running our team and the way he is making shots right now. … He is good," said Knicks President, Basketball Operations, and Head Coach Isiah Thomas, after the game.

"Jamal Crawford is a great player and he can do anything he puts his mind to doing," said impressed teammate Renaldo Balkman.

"My teammates did a good job of getting me open. Coach draws up some great plays … and I just want to come up big for them," Crawford said. "We did a great job. … They (New Jersey) made a great comeback, but we didn't fall."

When Crawford has his game going he's a great player. He seems to play so much better when Marbury isn't in the lineup, maybe it's because Jamal feels more pressure to be a better all-around player? I just know he's played fantastic since Marbury has officially taken a hike. Coincidence? I don't know, but interesting none the less. I've always liked Jamal, I wish he would play this way all the time, I'm just not sure he can.

Jamal is the best player on this team... take that for what it's worth, but he's far from the problem... half the time he's chucking up a bad shot, it's because he gets the ball w/about 2 seconds left in the shotclock... that's not to say he never takes a bad shot, but i think when he plays under control & doesn't get into a shooting match w/a player on another team, he's at his best... & when he gets that jumpshot going, he can torch you for 30+ on any given night, as we all saw tonight... he still has a ways to go to learn better shot selection, but the guy is our only big shotmaker & w/o him this team gets blown out tonight.

bring in a perimeter defending PG or a shotblocking big to play alongside Jamal & i'm willing to bet everyone would not be ragging on this guy half as much.

I am more with holfresh and Queenie pop on this one for a few reasons:

1. It makes sense- when(props to holfresh) - which I saw regularly the last few games - you are worried -did you notice that Randolph got TRIPLED team on one series - tonite- ridickalus- !! Unlike the fams who think Curry and Randolph suck big time - it seems that professional basketball players and coaches think they are pretty good. But we all knw - that fans know more than players and coaches. We all knew the Nets have no post game - and if WE knew it -certainly Isiahdid- hence out - went the old David lee/balkman/Jeffries stuff and in went the Randolph and Curry. Curry will hrt like you like the bully in highschool or junior hgh. You do flinch. As for Randolph - he is a real unusual player - I have rarely seen a player who seem like he takes a few bad shots, doesn''t play defense - doesn't seem to be involved in the game - and STILL averages a double double. He must win the ugliest double/double of the year award at the very least. BTW - the shot over the backboard - shweeeeeet!

2. I liked the way Queeniepop put it. It is not by accident that Crawford plays more minutes than any other Knick-including Curry/Randolph/Lee etc etcetera. He has seriously 'tried' to address his deficiencoes. Less turnovers, better shot selection, better assist ratio (looking to be a 'part' of the team').

We are getting there - just not this year. Which is cool. I mean - we have phenomenol depth thanks to Isiah. Instead of sad ass trade for Booby Simmins, Gadzuric, Jason Williams etc - he has actaully built and it may (scary- get better) where we have a team that has good players from 1-15!!! Not superstars mind you - but the philosophy othat 8-9 good players playing together will beat a team with 3 superstars and 4 good players!! What a concept- !!
Draft - don;t worry - I mean - look - we have Balkman/Lee/Nate/ for now- Chandler and Morris inthe wings. Malik/Rose coming off the cap and a draft pick. We won;t win a championship this year - maybe not the next - but guess what - we will go to the playoffs for the next 4-6 years after that =-every year and fnally win a championship.

Morris looked so much bigger than when I saw him last year - Isiah must be working him to death. Balkman - I thin is the biggest trade bait - in the sense that he is the least all round player on the knicks - not a shut down defender by any means- good hustle guy - but in the NBA - if you can't score as well as defend - cya!!

no because when Crawford is shooting well, like tonight, he could have all five guys hanging on him, and he'll hit the shots.

Wide open looks help Q with his cement sneakers.
