And what the hell has isiah been smoking that he hasn't gotten Balkman a more defined roll on this team.

But, I can't believe Isiah was looking to bundle Balkman in with Zach just to move zach and bring another bunch of garbage back.

If Dolan had given a greenlight to that, or any trade Isiah makes involving any of our better players, then he truly hasn't learnt anything...

I don't think you're wrong to think Balk contributed, but I do think you are overstating his importance to the team.

doesn't look to me like Balkman's not taking the game seriously... i still see him playing w/hustle every time he gets minutes.

Balkman still has alot of work to do on his game, but having someone out there who rebounds, passes, and plays defense helps alot when Crawford and Nate are carrying the scoring load.

if you look at stats, then I think this is the conclusion you reach.

but, when you look at energy and a 'will to win', I don't think you can.

We've seen our skill guys (Zach, Crawful) lose. why, because I'm not sure they are hungry enough to win basketball games.

But a person like Balkman & Nate- they're hungry- they want to win, they want to play.

Balkman helped sure. I wouldn't put all that much stock into these two wins though.

Detroit was on a 4th road game in 5 nights - had just played OT the night before - got into NY at about 4AM. We were rested and at home.

Washington had played the night before beating Boston in a tough game. We were rested and at home.

I just can't put much stock into such opportunistic situations. Let's see how we do against the Nets tonight since we're now the road team on a back to back and they're home and rested.

Does this REALLY count as a "road" game, Cos? I mean, really.

Balkman should be the starting small forward on this team. With all the shooters on this team he would just need to defend and rebound. Being so active would allow him to get many points on breaks and on put backs. They are enough shooters in the starting lineup but no one to do the dirty work. Q is too slow needs to come off the bench and shoot not try to defend much quicker players for the amount of minuites he plays right now.

Isiah seems to be beholding to individual players and not to getting the best group of players on the floor togather. They are constantly out of sync.

I'll agree, but we've been rested and at home against tired opponents plenty of time this year- and we've been blown out and often. Besides the altercation between Zach & Isiah, and Sourbury's mysterious absence, what has been different?

lol. start a second year turnover prone player with no shot? NY media would love that one and destroy his confidence. Q might be terrible right now but there are still reasons to start him over balkman.

Really and what are those, Q spreads the defense shooting 30% is out of shape and isn't defending and is the worst starting 3 in basketball

Detroit their next game man handled Toronto @ home while we let Toronto manhandle us @ home and Wash beat Boston back-to-back games. There's nothing we can take from these games other than the fact Nate may have showcased his value.

this is not college football with the BCS rankings... one team beating another has no bearing in judging another game... a win is a win just like a loss is a loss, there are no excuses to be had either way... stop being hypocritical.
