You have some pretty good insight on things but I'd like to know why is this guy here? I SAY UGH is still GM-President/coach. He still pulls the strings on bringing people in or phasing them out. Grunwald told us last yr our Cap would become a priority in 2yrs and a few months after those statements we trade for Zach Randolph. The word "Flexibility" was used. If I SAY UGH is let go sooner rather than later in what capacity will Grunwald operate at MSG?

Grunwald's role is that of high paid secretary/consultant. He does all the stuff Isiah doesn't have the time to do as far as the logistical grunt work and tying up loose ends. Some player personnel stuff here and there, number crunching, scouting potential free agents/the D-league, etc.

He works hard, don't get me wrong, but Isiah has the first and last say on everything before it goes to Dolan. If Isiah leaves, Grunwald will probably be interim GM with no power. He's Isiah's guy. He'll probably be a casualty of the fumigation the same way a lot of Layden's people were.

Grunwald is currently assistant masseuse to Dolan and the players, and when Isiah is fired he'll be the interim head lube guy.

We've got zero future, but we're a team built on happy endings.
