Game just started a few minutes ago. Anyone catch the great block at one end and the thunderous followup jam at the other end by Jordan? This kid's rediculous. Also want to keep an eye on richard Roby for Colorado. Waited all day for this game...

Anyone see the game? What did ya think? He looks raw to me and doesn't really remind me of Dwight Howard that much. He kinda reminds me of a slightly thicker Marcus Camby body-wise with a little slower reaction time. Not the beast that I thought I was going to see. Had an impact and you definitely knew he was there, but he kinda coasted thoughout. For the defensive presence he is, he let a lot of Colorado players go to the rim unchallenged. Had one awesome block early (where after the block Colorado gained posession and took it right back to the rim where Jordan let him go. I know he's raw and really young, but I'm not sure about using our #1 on him if he's still on the board when we pick...

Wasn't too impressed with Richard Roby. Doesn't appear to do too much out there if he's not looking to score. I think Shan Foster from Vandy (who was clutch and had a good game today against Kentucky even though they lost) might be a better SG prospect that might go late 1st round-early 2nd round.

I don't want a big man project with a top 3 pick unless it's more or less a sure thing like Dwight Howard or Okafor (who was proven). I think the key for the Knicks is to find their next point guard of the future. I think that is the quickest way to turn this thing around. An extremely talented and hard working pg who can lead by example and make the players around him better. Let's not joke, there is plenty of talent on the current roster. A great point guard can help put things together. Granted, there would still be plenty of holes but this team really needs someone to lead and set the tone which a pg does. Look at all of jason kidd's teams. He makes below average look average, average look good and good look great. And his attitude, defense and unselfishness spreads throughout the rest of the team. If there is a guy like a Chris Paul of Williams or Wade then we have to try and take that guy and hope he can develop. Then hope to make a trade here and there to balance out the roster.

Well that is the same mentality in why we didnt take Bynum. When you are evaluating a young big--and I mean young--you have to project what he can be--rather than what he is now. This kid is blessed with unusual athletic ability for his size AND has proven already to be a very good finisher on the collegiate level. He rebounds the ball well---and while he WILL need that same 2-3 year development time--you don't get many chances to acquire a player with his physical assets. On top of that--with that athletic ability--he will be able to step in in year 1 and give minutes and some of those minutes will look very good. When you make a commitment to a player like this high up in the draft you have to be prepared like the Lakers were with having a developmental team and you have to know the player wants to get better. With his physical assets he has a VERY high ceiling in the NBA. Guys who are 7 feet 240+ with that type of athletic ability and frame dont grow on trees. He's going to have to hit the weights hard--he's going to work very hard on skills but his upside is probably the highest in the draft. He's not the BPA but he's going to be a top 5 pick with huge upside.

In the end this is just a question of being LUCKY and little else. I guess many people thought the same of Kwarme Brown, and maybe Bynum could have ended up being a bust like him, but it just turned around that he was probably the best player on that draft.
I repeat it, the draft is usually a bit about luck, but especially when drafting big young players. You dont know how strong is their mentality, their work ethic, etc, etc.

I want whoever Jerry Colangelo/Bryan Colangelo/Donnie Walsh/Jerry West draft. What I don't want is who Isiah Thomas will draft.

But I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more focused on dumping our entire roster and making sure Isiah is gone at years end, than I am on who we will draft. Cause who fuking cares who we draft as long as Curry, Randolph, Marbury, Crawful, and the rest of our unlovable losers pollute the Garden floor.

What was Eddy Curry projected to be coming out of high school? Name of the game is luck......

Pervis ellison (sp?)....every once in a while he would show why he went #1....then the he'd crash a la jerome james.

One thing about Andrew Bynum was his work ethic as a youngster.

I believe hewent from 325lbs to a chisled 265 just to be draftes, that alone for a kid shows a lot of drive.

Does anyone know Deandre Jordans work ethic from highschool on ?

When you find out what makes a ball player tick, you can probably find out if he's gonna work hard at the next level just to get better .
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
