Fellow UK members - I started a new site about the inside story of the medical profession...

come by and check it out, it's very very raw, but please give me some feedback. It's not NBA related, but I'd love your help and input.

http://www.InternYear.com

THANKS!

I thought it was going to be a site to compile info on MSG Interns.

Boy...was I disappointed.

haha! everyone asks me what the real life of a medical intern is...

if you have sex with co-workers like grey's - for me, YES.

If you get tail - yes.

If you go for drinks, YES.

If there are rare cases - YES.

Bring it on.

Took a quick look, nice layout. Not sure if there's any others from your profession on this board. You're probably not going to get a lot of input on a basketball board (but it's always possible). I had debated posting about my software blog a while back, but figured that not many would be interested, so I didn't bother. Anyway, good luck.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

And yes, with a name like that, I assumed something similar at first, too.

The consensus seems to be more interns. And more sex.

I glanced at it briefly. Most 1st year residents have no lives, by design - so I'm not sure how much of an audience you're likely to receive. Maybe broaden the scope a little bit. The site looks fine overall.

As someone who has been in your position a long time ago, I suggest strongly that you focus on the medicine. That applies especially if you're in a transitional year. Or perhaps looking for a subsequent fellowship.

p.s. Its also not the best idea to make public statements about your sexual involvement with co-workers. Remember, you're still very low on the totempole, you never know who's reading what, and the medical establishment can be unforgiving.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

So, if a 1st year resident is setting up websites and such, he's obviously got extra time on his hands, so you give him more work to do, right?

This helps. Thanks! And the sex thing threw me off there. I have no relations involved with the medical field, except when I have to go see a doc, but I think this site is something medical interns do, to build what? A reputation in their fields? I will look at it again and see if I can offer anything.

Okay I looked again and I have to assume it's a communication site for you and other interns. Am I right? I went into the message board and thought it was simple enough to understand and go through. It sounds like you got a company or webmaster to put this up for you? I guess I should say, I really don't know much about interns, so other than it's simplicity, it looks good to me. Use it as a learning tool from other established medical people and get the heads up, before it gets to you. Maybe hot link it to other medical sites for a full range of information and contacts. It's like a 'myspace' page. lol

Also, it doesn't really say anything about you.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on Knickerbocker message boards. I actually work in corporate website development & production.

Nice initiative with the site. How do you plan to get members? Is it invite only, or will you be relying on people finding you via search engines? If it is the latter, look into adding some descriptive text about the site, preferably on the front page towards the top. There's a lot of "search engine optimization (SEO)" techniques out there -- mostly geared towards the King of the Mountain, Google.

And big ups for chasing tail, studying, working, and developing websites! You're a mad man... I'm worn out simply from just typing this post.

Just another day at the office!

I will follow up on these improvements later. Will be a very busy day today!
