Interesting article about a scary future that may be a reality for the Knicks very soon.

that is the only thing that will get dolan to clean up his act. to have the nets dipping into his pockets.. and you know what.? that would serve dolan right...

Its definately a scary thing to think about....

You know what? I'm sick and tired of having convos on this site and then a week later there is a article about it.....someone here mentioned this topic like last week and we blabbed a little about it.....I actually ranted....

I'm kinda sick of not getting credit for our work. I'm sure these sports writters visit these sites for inspiration.

Jay is set to gain a bigger stake in the Nets once they move, which means he'll have even more pull in personnel decisions. Right now he's just a vanity owner who dabbles a little in the marketing side but generally stays in the cut and owns less than 5%. But once Ratner builds his high rises on Atlantic, he's said to be looking to focus solely on that and Forest City, letting Jay be the face of the Nets ownership group.

It's pretty much a given that LeBron will be in Brooklyn unless he gets caught with Beyonce on her knees between now and then.....he's the biggest Jay-Z dickrider since that chick on Hot 97.

Just imagine all the cross marketing if Biggie was still alive?

Watch them get an All-Star game before the Knicks get one again. Dolan is such a horrible business man, that once some competition opens in his neck of the woods, he'll probably run away...Literally

Yeah, Jay-Z is a looming giant with the whole Nets ownership. Players will want to play for him for sure and that starts with Lebron. Great job Dolan.

I cant say I wont switch over to the Brooklyn Nets. What happens when youre given almost a decade of not only bad basketball, but horrible management and the height of arrogance that Dolan has given us?

I can stand losing, but what Dolan has done is crapped on us non stop since 98. SO he deserves for people to leave in droves.

Technically, you'll still be supporting an official New York basketball team. It will be just like Yanks and Mets

I think it's sad that Dolan is making diehard fans question their fanhood at this point. Doln must be the most hated man in New York sports.

Great article. Exactly what I was talking about in a thread from the other week.

I'm a pretty loyal dude and will be a Knick fan til either I or they no longer exist, but it would be hard to blame the average casual fan for jumping on a revived Nets bandwagon.

And like the article says, if they return as the "New York Nets" and start tapping into that ABA/Dr. Jay/Jay-Z mojo, watch out! Though the possible brand confusion with the Mets added to all of today's BK pride & Dodgers nostalgia, I wonder if they'll do that.

I'm not really buying it...The Nets has been in and around NYC since the 1960s...They never really supplant the Knicks as fan favorite in any of those years even with Dr.J...So things will change after they move to Brooklyn, I don't think so...The Knicks are the Knicks, the Nets are the Nets...There will be a period of novelty but when that wears off, it will all be about the Knicks again, LeBron and Jay-Z or not....

I drive by the site that will be the new Staidium everyday...I will continue to drive by to MSG to see the Knicks....This is a huge gamble for Jay-Z as well...They better have a good product come 2010...
