I read an article last year where Pippen was trying a comback to pay off a 5 mil loan owed to a bank...

Pippen, 42, scores nine points in Finnish league

VANTAA, Finland -- Former NBA star Scottie Pippen scored nine points to help Finland league leader Torpan Pojat beat Honka 98-85 on Saturday.

Pippen also had nine rebounds.

"It was great. I did not know what to anticipate without a game for the last three years," the 42-year-old Pippen said. "My conditioning is not at the top level, but I played with a great team and had a lot of fun."

ToPo had won 19th straight games in the Finnish league.

Pippen scored 12 points in his first game Friday, ToPo's 93-81 win over Porvoo.

"We had a lot of young kids here today, and that's how you make it, you dream young and you work at it," he said.

Pippen will play a game in Sundsvall in northern Sweden on Friday.

No they're paying him a ton of money to promote their team and draw interest.

Maybe the guy just loves playing basketball. Alot of people do, hell my father is 50 plus still entering tournaments. It's not just a game, it's a life style...

Pippen is a good guy but unfortunately he lost all his NBA money towards the end of his career. He has ALOT of legal bills and debt that he needs money for.

Scottie is broke and he's worn out his loans from Mike and Chuck won't even answer his calls. That man doesn't give a damn about Finland. He needs the money. He and his wife were spending like it was going out of style. She has a plastic surgery addiction, he has a gambling addiction. The only reason Mike was even loaning him money in the first place was because he took so much of it from him in poker games. Scottie was living paycheck to paycheck in the L, like so many other players.

He's got his own legal trouble and was paying for the legal troubles of friends and family in addition to being rumored to being extorted by an old college roomate. He thought he was going to retire and commentate, but he sucked and has a piss poor attitude and ridiculous salary demands so no one will hire him. That's why he's so bitter and delusional thinking someone should just give him a job as a coach. Scottie burned a lot of bridges in his day.

Scotty never made 15 per.....remember when Scotty and Micheal played on the Dream team, Chicago signed Tony Krukou? for more money than Scotty and Mike was making....It was a big issue at the time....Mike got his later but I don't think Scotty ever got paid the way others did...

Scottie Made $109 mil in his career and double digit millions later in his career. He never did make that much on the Bulls, but he certainly made enough through endorsements and his later career salary to not have to worry about cash if he wasn't nuts.

Scottie's broke and he isn't the only one. When you have no concept of money management, it doesn't matter how much money you make, you can lose it all. When you have the issues he has/had (gambling, bad investments, a gold digger for a wife, legal issues, etc), not to mention the up and up things (employing family members, chefs, drivers, numerous mortgages, a fleet of expensive cars, expensive vacations, kids, charitable donations, taxes, etc.) you can go broke and he did.

Yes, he is. There was a piece on this over the summer on RealSports or some sports show. He is broke and is looking for $$ any way possible. He had many failed business ventures and bad business advice.

When you let the dick rule your life, you pay in the end. Remember the child support he had to pay also. guys like this blow it all in the end. It wouldn't surprise me if he did lose it all to gambling and other waste. I remember all of those stories of waste. If I made even a million of what he' made, It would growing and making more for the rest of my life. I take the Warren Buffet aproach. 'It's fun watching my money grow'.
I'll never trust this' team again.
