And the Kings haven't bit. Kings are interested in Lee and Nate. Well ok where do we go from here. I'd really like to hear from those who told us Ron would be coming here via trade and if we were to offer Balkman, Malik, Nate/or pick, it would be too much. For the record I don't want Artest never have never will, not with this group of MisShits.

Ron is not someone you bring in to stabilize a bad situation.

Uh, both Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph need to go. You don't keep either one.

I value Ron Artest as an expiring contract...nothing else

Posted by TrueBlue: obviously now that Balkman's trade value has plummeted that deal won't get it done... why was it unreasonable to think that deal could have been made before the season when that wasn't the case? were u in touch w/the SAC Kings on that one & knew something no one else did? there were reports from some media sources that the Kings were interested in Balkman or Lee in the offseason & the Knicks wouldn't part with them if my memory serves. i love how u wait til every deal doesn't get done & then call people out for discussing the possibility of them having a chance... let's hear about some deals u've proposed that have actually gone down if you're so in the know on these matters TrueBlue. Posted by TMS:Posted by TrueBlue: LOL 99.9% of proposed trades don't come to fruition and that's why I almost never post them. And of all the players the Knicks are in the best position to get, were supposed to get, more than likely will get, we ended up with Zach Randolph. We've struck out in almost every situation. As far as the Artest situation goes I've said from day one we don't have a shot unless we're parting with Lee, which isn't some Revelation, it's just a fact. Little Nate coupled with trash won't cut it. Some are having a hard time coping with the realities of our Dire situation. Posted by TrueBlue:Posted by TMS:Posted by TrueBlue: You're trying to make yourself look good in every thread you start. Most every thread is an opportunity for you to rub someone's nose in it. Good for you that this team has fallen apart and failed to even meet the levels most pro analysts predicted for it. No one really expected this level of failure. It wasn't really that unreasonable to expect that Artest could be traded for. IF the only point you have is that it would take more than a bag of balls and Balkman to make the trade happen, bravo for being right so far on that one. IF Artest was added to this team, the way it's currently playing it wouldn't make much difference. We lack a coherent plan of attack on O and D. The team has no clue what it's trying to do and there's no chemistry. The reason is that Isiah had no clue how to mesh the pieces he put together. He said he had a plan, but in reality, there really wasn't a solid plan for using Zach and Curry. I doubt there would be one with Artest either. You can't just throw him out there with Zach and Curry and expect instant success. Artest's game is a perfect fit for what we lack, but how do you make it all work with so many guys wanting and needing the ball to succeed? I believe it would fail. Poor Guard play would doom us no matter what we did. We have no playmaker and no high % shooting at Guard. We just need to go in a new direction and not look to add more problem children to the team. |

Posted by TrueBlue:Posted by TMS:Posted by TrueBlue: no, i notice u rarely if ever stick ur neck out on any topic... u much prefer to stand back & rag on people when their suggestions don't come to fruition... i don't recall anyone on this forum saying we WOULD get Artest for a trade of Balkman & a collection of bunk... what they said was that before the season began, they WOULDN'T GIVE UP MORE than that package to land Artest... i hardly think that opinion has changed now unless u happen to think those same people are now ready to trade D Lee in order to bring Artest to NY... but go ahead & keep playing the "I told u so" game if that makes u feel good. Posted by TMS:Posted by TrueBlue:Posted by TMS:Posted by TrueBlue: Actually TMS I have been wrong on a couple issues/topics. One that immediately comes to mind is the Miami Heat. I was way wrong about them and the other is the Chicago Bulls, although they still may have enough time to turn things around. I also made a mistake in my first post in that most fans weren't thinking we could offer Balk, Malik, Nate or pick for Artest. Although some did. Instead they felt that package would be too much to offer but he still could be had with possibly less. My main point wasn't so much the premise of suggested offers vs our fan base always thinking we have this appearance of a clear shot to land such players. Plus the assumption we can stick our nose up in such discussions. It appears Balkman was overrated by us. It doesn't specify when Balk was offered but if he was pulled off the table "quote" unquote by us,.... how is it he was put back on the table? Quite honestly I believe this side of the story was bunk. The Kings wanted more from us and wouldn't budge, therefore I SAY UGH had no choice but to take him off the table. He probably revisited the discussions only to be rebuffed again. I believe this is likely where plenty of I SAY UGH'S recent frustrations are coming from. He wants to make a deal but he isn't making any headway with players he'd like to acquire because ours have no value.
