About 99 percent of the league never believed that Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry could be effective together and apparently Thomas now feels the same way. When asked about his power forward and center, Thomas gave this telling answer: “This is a league that really plays small. Everyone plays four guards and a power forward who really is a small forward at the center. The way the rules are in the NBA now, they’re really not set up for the big guy. They’re set up for the small players.

“Our big guys got to get better, they’ve got to get quicker, they’ve got to get faster.”

holy crap...he should've traded for this guy:

Yeah, when you want to play fast it's always good to get a 6'10 325lb center with conditioning problems and a flatfooted PF coming off micro-fracture surgery.

The "plan" is in full effect.

Get quicker and faster? Maybe Isiah should call Balco.

Why would he say that stuff? He's basically calling out himself. This just gets dumber and dumber.

whatever happened to this stuff:

November 2004

11/9 - “I have no interest in coaching,. I don’t think I’ll ever coach the New York Knicks.”

11/9 - “As long as I’m the president of basketball operations here in New York, I don’t see myself coaching the New York Knicks,” he said. “And I wish you would stop writing it or stop saying it, because that’s not going to happen while I’m here.

11/9 - “I think in other cities, you may be able to pull off G.M.-coach, but I don’t think in this city you can do it, simply because the energy and the passion that it takes to do one job, the way we have to travel, the way we have to live, the complexities of this city. I know, myself, I wouldn’t have the energy to be the president and also the coach.”

The post got messed up....but that's exactly what's been going on for us the last 3 years.

Here's what I was trying to say:

Yup he said that.

So that means he is a liar.

It also means its time to turn the TV off......@ least until Martin locks the board so Isles can make his "Knicks fire Isiah" thread.

The history of the NBA says you need atleast 1 great big man along with *other solid8 big men* to help win a championship. If you say the Bulls--they always had an enormous C with a great PF Rodman Grant then you have shaq duncan robinson hakeem pistons always have a plethora of good big men. You DO NOT win NBA championships without good big men-- plus you need to have a star as well. A Curry would be OK @ C IF you had a Rodman at PF and Kobe at Guard.

That's not really saying anything insert any big man in place of Curry and they'd be ok playing with those 2 players. Problem is why isn't Curry anything close to the aforementioned bigs listed? If Curry were Hakeem or Patrick then I'd say the rest of our players on the team would be a whole lot better and so would the team. Heck if Curry was David Robinson we'd be better but he isn't even half the player he was in his prime. If Curry was better, we wouldn't have traded for Zach Randolph. If Curry was better we wouldn't be wishing we had a 2 guard(ROY) who isn't a big, instead of him.

So basically, if it were up to Isiah, our starting rotation should be:

Nate
Marbury
Crawford
Quentin
Balkman

Dude, you know how assinine his statements sound? He says the league does this, but the league still sucks and is recovering from being a bad league. Teams are back to experimenting with big men and actual PGs. The days of the combo guards are coming to an end. It just so happens that Isiah chose some of the crappiest big men in the league to work together and he can't build a team, whether the rest of the league is doing it or not.

How about this Isiah. Model our squad after an actual good team. Not the current New Jersey Nets.
