my picks this week are:

Giants 24 Bucs 21
Skins 27 Hawks 17
Steelers 17 Jags 13
Chargers 23 Titans 20

i don't think these will be very high scoring games... if there's a blowout game i think it will be the Skins... they've been playing great the past 4 games & are riding an emotional wave into the playoffs.

Giants 24 Bucs 13
Seahawks 35 Redskins 14
Jaguars 24 Steelers 21
Chargers 28 Titans 6

Seahawks had won 6/7 before playing a weird game against the Falcons in Week 17. I think they are a superior team to the Skins and the Skins will come back to Earth a bit. Chargers aren't great, but the Titans are worse...they won't be able to do much on O. Steelers Jags is a pickem game as far as I'm concerned.

I posted long thoughts on the Giants game on the OT thread, so I won't go into that here.

Good thread TMS...

Giants 24 Bucs 17
Redskins 24 Seahawks 20
Jaguars 20 Steelers 17
Chargers 31 Titans 14

By the way, I am EXTREMELY worried about the Giants. They are clearly the more talented team, but its games like this that really worry me with them, Garcia knows how to win and they have a solid defense. I'm going to be on pins and needles all game Sunday..

Also, my darkhorse team this playoffs is the Jags, I think they beat the Steelers, who are vulnerable to the run and I think they pose the biggest threat the Pats of anyone. They are the best coldweather team in the playoffs and any game against the Pats is going to be in cold weather up in Foxboro. Their D can create turnovers, they stop the run, Garrard doesn't make mistakes and they can run the ball all day long, I REALLY like the Jags.

nyk, no doubt, Garcia always gives us problems... & Eli has never stepped up big yet so far in this couple chances in postseason play... we'll see if he can get it done this time... this team has played well on the road & TB is a good home team so i'm expecting a competitive game regardless.

i agree if the Jags get past PIT they will be a problem for any team in the AFC... that game's gonna be a defensive low scoring game IMO.

Garcia always gave us trouble. You sure we can keep him under control.

I think a few things are different this time:

1) Garcia suffered a back injury at the end of the year that limited him into playing only 2 of the last 5 games. It has severely limited his mobility (0 rushing yards in these games, 4 sacks). He also hasn't exceeded 200 yds passing in those games.

2) Garcia doesn't have a safety valve target that can make plays after he scrambles like Terrell Owens or Brian Westbrook. Joey Galloway is great at grabbing the deep ball, but not on the underneath stuff. Hilliard can beat you underneath, but he doesn't have the speed or elusivness anymore to make any plays. Earnest Graham, the RB, is a workhorse, but not a big play guy at all. No plays more than 28 yds this year.

3) The Giants have a better pass rush this year than 2002 or 2006. And additionally, neither of those games featured Justin Tuck, who is an exceptional athlete that can run down virtually any QB's and also adds the added dimension of bringing pressure inside on 3rd downs.

The thing I am most worried about in this game is not the Tampa O, but our propensity to get turn the ball over at times. Specifically worried about Jacobs fumbling b/c Tampa is very agressive with stripping the ball, and our biggest advantage in this game is Jacobs vs. their light front 7. I think we will be conservative passing the ball, but take a couple of deep shots if Tampa gives us any look other than the cover 2. If we can get Jacobs going they will have to put a safety in the box and the deep shot will be there with either Toomer or Burress. Their corners are "zone" corners and if we can get either of WR's matched up man to man we'll havee an opportunity. But Jacobs has to get going.

And pt no.4 courtesty of Mike Florio of the Sporting News- Defensive Coordinator Spagnuolo, who was with the Eagles last year, had great success in shutting down the Eagles offense twice this year, limiting them to 16 points in 2 games. Gruden and the Bucs run a very similar offense to Andy Reid and the Eagles, as Gruden as they both coached together and came from the same school of though on the WCO.

I'm sorry, but I just feel that the Giants are a joke. Failed to prove they where real at least three times this year. Lost to Dallas 'Twice' and the let N.E. walk all over them to set several major NFL records. I fully expect them to lose the first game. Might as well live up to what they really are.

I'm sure they'll go out of their way to make me a liar though.
I'll never trust this' team again.

huh? what game did u watch 49? the one i watched saw the Giants dominate the Pats in the 1st half, only to let down & let the Pats come back & take control in the 2nd half... they lost by 3 points... i don't categorize that as having 1 team walk all over the other... the Pats are an alltime great squad, there's no shame in losing to them much less giving them all they could handle in the final game of the season that was completely meaningless for the Giants to win & meant everything in the world for the Pats if they lost.

Yeah, that's the game I watched to. You saw that? What a disgrace. We walked away with nothing but a close game and a big fat nothing.

The only way they can earn the respect back is to win the super bowl. I'm tough on my teams and players. We should all demand the very best from them. I mean they are' getting paid millions of dollars, right? I think it's only fair.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'm sorry TMS, but I gotta ask. Just exactly who's side are you on? I wanna hear it that the patty's and anything baston sucks!!!

Baston area doesn't show us a jack crap of respect, nor will I to them. Screw them and they're weak little pride.

I never pick the score exactly right so I had to pat myself on the back for that one. WASH played great at the end of the year, but all in all they weren't as talented as Seattle, even though they really did give them a scare. Hopefully I go 4-0 as that would mean good things for NYG. Next week's opponent would be Dallas and T.O. has a high ankle sprain, so who knows anything can happen.

dude, it doesn't take being a true fan of the Giants to recognize & acknowledge what the Pats have done this year.

When I saw you over on the Knicks, I knew I'd see you here. I was just sticking you with pins a little. Go Giants!
