I am reading where layden is willing to trade spree and the 9th pick to toronto for Jerome williams and the 4th pick. OK that is not bad so far, I mean Jerome williams is long, athletic, he is only 27, and he is a great defender and rebounder, and the 4th pick can land us another big player with upside like Bosh or lampe...

but now I read that he would be looking at TJ ford with that pick!!!!!! TJ ford????????? For christ sakes here we go again!!! I mean we are going to sacrafice spree to get ford? I would take Hinrich with the 9th pick instead. Then he said that Williams would solve a lot of their height issues at SF and PF. Again stupidity surfaces because Williams can not score at all to play SF, and supposedly we have a PF in dice.... This is why I hate this man at times!!! Why are we considering Ford at all? why?

i read its Lamond Murry,Willaims and #4 for Spree,#9.My gut feeling is that,this is a smoke screen to get Kaman or Lampe.Due to the fact they will not drop pass #7.Ford on the other hand will make it to the 9th pick so i dont see why the knicks would trade up for him.They name Ford to be the pick that way Miami or Clippers wont make a better offer for the 4th pick.

The only way Layden gets another chance is if he gets a true center or a good PF by draft or trade. I think he knows this too and I really doubt he is dumb enough to draft TJ ford over Lampe and Kaman and Bosh. But then again, he has done dumber things in the past.

I just read that article and it make me sick to my stomach. Moving up in the draft is a great idea but for tj ford please hes and Ok PG but at number 4 yah right. at 4 i want a dominate player for the next 7 years. This happens every year we the knicks draft I get sick to my stomach I thought last year was an exception but as soon as mcd went down it all came back. What do we have to do to change this guys way of thinking. I feel that the pick is so easy to pick but scott makes it the worst case senerio. who wouldn't pick the an athletic big man with this pick the only reason to pick small is for james or anthony, but knowing scott he would probably pick gary coleman with the number one pick

if scott layden moves up and takes tj ford. every one who says that scott layden is not at fault but james dolan is...

will get exactly what you deserve. and my guess there will even be posters who will "make sense" of the move.

i can't even fathom how some posters have actually came out of their mouth to even put a sentence together talking about "i want layden to draft t j ford". i'm not crazy about kaman sweetney and i haven't seen lampe. wasn't crazy about pavel but even i understand the logic of taking either 1 of the 4 but tj ford? come on now. he is a pure point he is a penetrator. he is a midget who can't shoot. something about the university of texas ball players and first round draft picks that just don't mix

i've heard he can penetrate and take it to the hole like speedy claxton. okay then go get speedy claxton then. it'll be cheaper. go get tyron lue and earl boykins. even more cheaper.

some knick fans i tell you the truth...

To be honest prod, I think Troy bell may turn out to be better than ford and the knicks can get bell with their #30 pick. If we move up to #4 and don't pick Bosh, I will turn Ares on the knicks and start rooting for another team... There is no logical explination in taking TJ ford that high.... Again I want to see the knicks take a chance on one of these young cats with upside with their later picks, If outlaw is there grab him... Lang..grab him.. Maybe we can get lucky with one of those cats..

I really believe this draft is 4 deep and then it's anyone's guess.

I think the draft is

lebron 1a
melo 1b
both of those guys will be stars no doubt about it

darko is 2a
Bosh is 2b
these guys have absolute star potential but i believe it will take develoment time for both-although they can play now. I believe when all is said and done bosh will be 7-0 1/2 245 PF.

To many people see Bosh as a freshmen and dont understand that TIM DUNCAN was 6-10 215 his freshmen year and he stayed at Wake forest 4 years. he was not as good as Bosh his freshmen year.
Bosh needs to work on explosion and specialized strength training. He's a REAL good kid -very intelligent and will work hard. Thats is the type of kid you build a team with. And he is a two way player.

Ford could be a solid backup, Boykins or Claxton role. That's a good thing to have, but is it worth the number 4 pick (even if we can get that pick, which is just rumor at this point)? I say no. With Frank there, why not pick a PG in the 2nd round? Ward goes, regardless, so he can preach to a new flock. But for now, he can get the flock outta here.

I'm not going to go nuts thinking about it too much. It's all hype and hyperbole until Thursday night.

when you are that small, you better be able to penetrate and put the ball in the hole. Damon Stoudamire, earl Boykins, Iverson, can flat out put the ball in the hoop with the best of them, From what I have seen and heard, TJ ford can't shoot at all, that is not good, I would rather draft a troy bell who can play point and score as well, true bell may not be a natural PG but so what. I am hearing that ford is slipping on a lot of GM's board, I would not be suprised to see him slip out of the top 10, but as long as the knicks hold a top 10 pick that probably won't happen, because we are desperate, and with that comes desperate moves.... Layden knows he needs to make something happen and this does not bode well for us knicks fans who want talent for the future, layden's future is now and that is why he could care less about young talent...

Is Ford all that much better than Troy Bell? Marcus Hatten? These two guys are projected to go in the 2nd round. If we are trading up to 4 we are looking to get Bosh....With #30 if Layden wants a point let him pick up Troy Bell.

I couldn't agree with you more, EnySpree. Troy Bell with the 30th pick would be ideal... he's better than TJ Ford and will prove it in the NBA.

yea spree, I addressed that earlier, I think Bell is as good as Ford and Bell has size and the ability to score against anyone... I am almost sure we can get bell with Pick #30..

tk i read where bell has had some impressive workouts and did great at the combines also. the word is he is gonna move up in the draft. doubt if he will be available at 30.

damn, well that is OK, I mean layden would bury him on the bench behind the two slugs named ward and eisley anyway... I hope travis Outlaw is available at #30 because I would take him also...
