I honestly don't see how Isiah's infatuation with his Chicago boys Eddy and Q, is any different than Larry starting players in their hometowns. Both remain in the starting lineup because Isiah's more concerned about feelings, homeboys and not admitting Isiah the GM is an idiot than he is about winning games.
I see a big difference in the two. LB gave every player an opportunity for motivation during the season by doing that. At least that was his goal. Meanwhile I SAY UGH is coddling his big splash acquisitions while ****ting on other players who are more deserving. It's really not the same at all.
It wasn't for motivation purposes. It was to show Isiah that he had crappy players when it came down to being able to win games and he was right. His whole reasoning for not having a set rotation was that no matter what combo he threw out there nothing was going to stick because he had 3 and 4 of the same player at each position.
He did it in hopes that Isiah would take a hint and bring in winners with complementary pieces or that the pieces he had would man up and fall in line by sacrificing their stats and previous mentalities for the sake of winning. Instead of listening to the hall of fame coach with the ring, Isiah listened to the cry baby players who thought the Big Bad Bladder Man was coming to take their platinum pacifiers away. It was a gimmick move that would have worked on a real GM but was lost on an idiot who has no business masquerading as a sports executive.
Both were ridiculous (Larry could have gone about his plans differently and more professionally). The only difference between keeping Q and Eddy in the lineup for no apparent reason and starting a new lineup every 2 or 3 games is that Larry's is excusable because he had an ultimate goal of winning and was obviously right about this band of losers. Isiah's just trying to cover his ass and save his $24 million while holding on to his last job in pro sports for dear life.
