Can't edit title lol Ewing doesn't think Curry can crack it in NY.
Ewing, the Orlando assistant, understands more than anyone what it takes to prosper at the Garden. The “Big Fella" received more boos and catcalls than any Knick.
“I don't know if he came into camp in shape or not," the likely Hall of Famer told The Post. “You have to have a strong mind to play in New York. Not too many people can play there."
The boos that wash over the Knicks at the Garden have become a big issue in their freefall. Ewing is an expert on the topic.
“I think it's a great place to play," Ewing said. “When you're doing well, they'll let you know. When you're doIng bad, they'll let you know. It's a great check. You have to check yourself."

This is why I wish most posters think again about anyone can come here at MSG and play for the knicks and succeed.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

This was a big fear of mine. I had no reason to believe Eddie would handle it. It's an intangible that certain players have and it's imperative that scouts learn to recognize this over other 'tools' or skill sets.

Being tall and being athletic is nice. Being able to have the mental focus and toughness to either:

Lead The Team (Ahem, Marbury)
Handle Adversity
Resist Off Court Temptation (not easy for any player of any sport)
Resist urge to body slam journalists who rip on you

Immature toolsy players are ones I always hope we avoid, whether from the perspective of a Met fan or Knick fan. It takes good instincts to read this quality in young players and I have felt for years that Isiah simply doesn't have the instincts or refuses to listen to them.

It's a drag...

Captain Obvious had a whole team of guys who were mentally tough enough to play in NY. The Knicks have 2 - Nate and David. When Pat was cracking under pressure, he had Oak, Mase, John and even Riley on his case. He also had John Thompson on speed dial reminding him of all the crap he had to take coming up in Boston, which was much worse than anything he'd ever face at MSG. Eddy instead has a bunch of babies and enablers co-signing for him in addition to a coach who has no idea what it takes to succeed here but spends every minute trying to convince us he does.

Ewing got heat for being the man. Eddy never even stepped forward to claim that role.

Ewing proclaimed greatness and put the team on his shoulders.

Marbury proclaimed greatness and caved.

Eddy proclaimed how he likes his steak cooked.
Ewing does think might be a able to crack it in N.Y.
