No other team conducts business like the Knicks. This will be several times in the past 4 years where we *eat* a contract for reasoning that is not readily acceptable. At some point they have to come in with this is just not in the best interests of the NBA. That has to be it. Stern has to do something and maybe this Marbury thing can break the camel's back.

Why doesn't a member of the media who follows the Knicks use their medium to call out Stern. Forget about Isiah---call out Stern.

It was several years back where they threatened the LA Clippers--now it's time for the Knicks.

I wonder if they tinker with the next CBA. Hand out another Allan Houston exemption minimally. Relax trade restrictions for teams above the cap. Set limits on the MLE so that you can only use it once every two years. Etc...
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

IMO steph never plays in NYC again. Probally there is talk between him and MSG mgt that he cant play in the Garden because of the memory of his dad is there. Acceptable? Maybe. But just think how this gets steph off the hook about playing here, get IT and Dolan off the hook and trade steph out west, for kwame brown? so he only hasta play in the Garden once or twice a yr. Agree or disagree??

your missing briggs point - doing that would only enable an organization like the knicks to continue to be mismanaged.

The cap isn't why we're bad - look at every other team- they're mostly at or slightly over or under the cap- and 95% of the league currently has a better record than us.

Why?

Mismanagement.

Stern works for the owners. The other owners have to want to do something about Dolan and as long as they get revenue from the Knicks being ridiculously over the cap, the other owners aren't going to do a thing. If Stern goes toe to toe with Dolan, he'll be setting a precedent of abuse of power in the eyes of the other owners. Stern hates Dolan and would like nothing more than for him to suddenly disappear without a trace, but he's also got 29 other million/billionaires to worry about.
