People are funny, they praise Eddie Jordan who got promoted who has a Career losing record 33 -64 plus AN interim tag that didn't land him a permenent job, but trash Chaney who has a career losing record too.! And for that I laught at you! Randy Ayers who was successful at Ohio State gets the job in philly. why? He already has dealt with Iverson's crap and won't be blown away at his poor work ethic for practice and being on time on game day. Other potential coaches didn't want to deal with it!

Eddie Jordan coached the Sacramento Kings for the final 15 games of the 1996-97 season and the entire 1997-98 season, compiling a 33-64 record AND ALLOWED ADELMAN TO GET THE NOD OVER HIM.

Again your ignorance raises it's ugly head. The yr Houston won title Mario elie among others were picked up that offseason and Don Chaney is the one who told Management what they needed(blueprint) to win it all and when they fired him the following yr, the owner admitted he shouldn't have fired him. He put the Rockets together and then got the boot so that Rudy T could recieve the credit for it.

Setting criteria for head coaching position is nearly impossible because there is a real shortage of competitive coaching.
Ownership has its own agenda for coaching criteria, for example, Dr. Buss could have spent more money in acquiring a player in complementing Shaq and Kobe, and kept Rambis to see how many rings could have been delivered. WHERE COULD HAVE ANYONE SPENT 6 MILLION FOR A PLAYER TO DELIVER A CHAMPIONSHIP....AND TWO MORE AFTER THAT?
PHIL JACKSON
Coaching criteria 101...and its still a player's league
