This is what happens when you sign people with attitude. The siging of Nate & stephon was a major mistake. I siad it before and I was questioned about what I said. And now it's all proven. Attitude can be very, very destructive in trying to find chemistry with a team.
How many teams in professional American sports, who had someone with an attitude, that ultimately deminished team confidence? Randy Moss is one and now he's with a team that doesn't let that happen, but there's still time for Moss to explode again. Coach Isiah has a little bit of an attitude also. By way of being in denial and not addressing players needs, on a personal bases and even more so, with the lack of team confidence in him, in light of what happened with the lawsuit. You can't question that attitude hasn't done all of this to us and our team. With Isiah reflecting his undoing, through Q the other day, it is yet another example of no confidence, no respect for one another. Having an attitude and strutting one's stuff never has and will not accomplish anything. It will NEVER' replace fundamentals. Mr. Robinson (David Robinson) was a great example of that very thing. Sticking to fundamentals, having respect not only for himself, but all of those around him paid off. And he was rewarded with Tim Duncan to finally bring him a trophy. It doesn't happen all the time, but it certainly won't happen if you have a virus on the team.
Charles Barkley had attitude his whole career and look what it got him? Nothing but a full NBA career. That trophy speaks of boundless accomplishments in one's career and most people who got them, are the people who got serious about the game and went out and did the most professional job they could. And then you have the kind of chemistry like Kobe-Shaq, where one had attitude and the other tried to have integrity with his play. It's a rare thing for a duo like that to win championships. Kobe just happened to be enormously talented. My point is, attitude is very destructive and as long as we have it, we won't have much of anything. It's the truth! Not to mention, it's very contageous. Apparently, and according to Chuck Daley, these cats are giving up. It certainly seems that way.
All in all, as I been saying and many of you been saying, at least start by getting rid of someone like Nate. Tackling Malik in the shower, taking short swings (because his arms weren't long enough), and not connecting in last years fight against Denver, which heightened the brawl and ended up with susensions and goofing off on the floor after one of his scores, is way-way too much to have to deal with. Especially when your trying to focus. Not forgetting all of the escapades of stephon and the problems that Isiah himself brought from outside. Our team is either sick with the blues or sick with some personal problems. These players aren't responding anymore. We need a new coach. We need a few new players to help this team revive itself. it's very simple, but it has to be the right situation also.
No #1 draft pick is going to save us. So we need to start thinking about what to do now. We already know what the problems are. What to do now, to move foreward by next season? It doesn't have to be above .500 or the playoffs just yet, but something that speaks volumes. Something that says we are past the attitude era and ready to move on. I still say buy out half of stephons contract, in his last season and trade him, Nate and Curry for some serious players. Let's start from the beginning again. Keep what we know has potential for now, with the other young guys and find the personnell to manage the rest of this team. And one more thing. Don't mention Artest in any deal. We need to move on.
