Isiah May Take Himself Off Bench?

With his team coming off its latest embarrassing performance, Isiah Thomas said Tuesday he may have to shake up his roster if the Knicks don't show signs of recovery from their 7-17 start.

"It's safe to say that we're not happy about where we are and I'm not happy about where we are," Thomas said at practice a day after the latest loss. "And if we don't turn it around soon, then yeah, we'll have to make some changes."

And he didn't rule out having to consider the team's coach. Thomas was asked how he would evaluate the coach if he were the general manager, and if he thought a change could be necessary there.

"That's a better question in a couple of weeks and not today, but in a couple of weeks," Thomas said. "We'll see if we can come out of this. If we can't come out of this, then those are fair questions." [READ]

If this happens, I quit. That's it.

If Isiah is allowed to go back to GM'ing and effectively take no blame for the all the crap he has done after Dolan basically forcing him to coach a year and a half ago, I will boycott everything Knicks(even reading about them) until Isiah is fired.

And if that does occur, it will prove Isiah's power in the organization and that he will be here for a long time.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Wow, Isiah is pulling out the big guns.

If the players don't turn it around in a couple of weeks he's gonna stop giving them handjobs and make Herb do it instead.

WOW so I SAY UGH no longer thinks he's the right coach for this team when the Lovers said he was.

How can anyone make sense of this?

They seriously need to do a Motion Picture about the past 4-5yrs of this franchise it would be that compelling. I wonder if I SAY UGH has been given two weeks by Dolan to make "EVIDENT PROGRESS" and this is just I SAY UGH'S way of sugarcoating his ultimatum giving false pretense to his current standing?

I think if Isiah and Dolan pull that stunt, the Garden crowd will grow even more angrier. Dolan and Isiah think we're all dummies but they have no clue how bad it will get if Isiah was allowed to remain as GM while throwing Herb to the Wolves. Isiah can run, but he can't hide. The media will be even more vicious and the crowd will scream fire Isiah that much louder. Let them try it!!!!!

So does the new coach get to buy, bag, and cook his own groceries to his liking or will he get the beginning stages of the Hells Kitchen treatment?

He's thinking about retiring this dude will disappear eventually like the Chaff in the wind from a dry desert floor.

If I SAY UGH is replaced we have no options at conducting an outside search if he remains the GM. No one is touching our team...... if they attempt this, which means Herbs becomes the whipping/flunky boy again.

that's a point that goes along with the tanking argument...

Unless we get a Rose, or a player of his level, are we going to be able to attract a decent coach?

Do we think a coach even matters that much? I'm still not completely sure in the current NBA.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

You mean there are guys out there who would turn down 4-5 mil per year for at least 3 years...

I thought if Isiah failed to coach his product to victory that he would lose all his titles and be fired.

Isiah the GM is the problem and there's apparently no coach that can take this team to victory.

I tend to agree. A better coach could probably get this group to .500, but this group has too many defensive deficiencies and inconsistent offensive players to ever win on an above .500 level. We need to replace Q with a SF who can really score and defend. We need to replace Curry with a center who can defend and still score at a decent clip. We have the trade assets to do it, we just need a GM smart enough to bring in the right players.

No... It's easy.
Bench the guy and tell to press that this player is garbage until he prove otherwise.
Then give him 5-10 min from the bench and see what happened.
This usually works pretty well.
If not just send him home to enjoy money from his LAST NBA contract

^^ these guys all believe they are great. All they do is make excuses. Thats not a very well thought out post. A lot of the guys on our roster would be thrilled to be sitting home getting paid what they are.
