i don't know anything about this pavel cat but i'm not impressed with him only playing something like 68 minutes last year?

68 minutes? where is the substance???

and he is supposed to be still growing?

if it took 3 years for players like kobe & mcgrady to make a name for themselves...and they were high school phenom's then what is to make of a guy like pavel? what is there to make?

a sandwich?

all those years as a fan and now i'm the anti-knick. life is crazy aint it.

Insider thinks Pavel won't get past the Clipper's at #6.. their Euro scout discovered him. Kaman seems to be our target.. good athleticism, 7.0 1/2, 260 ... hard worker.. was offended by references/comparisons to Todd McCollough/Ostertag. The other scenario is trade down.. while picking up a vet. Badaine is raw
and will likely last until very late in the 1st.

i dont know about any of these centers being drafted,to me they could be a bust but i sure know that N.Collison should be taken by the knicks at #9.he is a legit PF, we passed on Artest a few yrs. back.i hope not to see the same thing with this guy.i say pick a center with #30-Lang.then to see a trade for some verteran defensive centers like Kandi,Dampier,Cato.

Collison isn't strong enough to be an effective power forward in this league and he knows it... said as much in Steve Popper's article in today's NYTimes.

The good news on Collison is... he knows how to play the game and is smart enough to recognize how much work he has to put in to have any chance of making an impact in this league. He has the smarts and experience of a Battier and Murphy and should work as hard to accomplish his goals as the latter.

NYK8 - Uhhh Collison over Kaman. I don't see it. Kaman is the better athlete at more of a need position, provides more length, produced despite being double and triple teamed. He has the potential to be a post up player. The guy I really want is Bosh. 6'11 with superior athleticism, and good fundamentals. He will go at #5 though. We'd have to give a big package to get him .... Milos/ #9/ maybe the #38 as well. It'd be worth it.. if that could get it done.

Collison, Some scouts are rating him as a role player. He doesn't have the atleticism to be a good player in the NBA. He averaged 18points and 10 boards in college as a senior. There are players going in the second round that put up better numbers than him. He isn't lottery material. Knicks need to stay away from that. I would rather go Sweetney with the 9th if a big man isn't there.

Kaman is another not strong enough, Rain... and I think his athleticism is not all that great being deemed slow during trials. I'm not sure he's more athletic than Collison.

However, I'd like to see them trade up to the five spot to ensure getting either Pavel or Bosh.

Podkolzin played 68 minutes at Varese, which is not one of the best italian clubs. I think he will be injured more than he plays and will end his career in about 3 years because of injury. We should draft Lampe.

All player come with the risk of getting injured. Who would have thought Dice would be injured as much as he is or Grant Hill for that matter injuries doesn't know any names they just happen. I think people only see 68 minutes what I see is 18 years old 7'5'' 303lbs. How many players come with that package. He has some athleticism can run and jump that is a solid foundation to have to start with give him 2-3 years after all even Kobe and T-Mac required that much time after being drafted at 18. I think he will develop his game with time he already has a smooth shooting touch and his ball handling skills are good which will make his learning curve shorter. Yoa was drafted at the age of 23. Give Pavel that much time (5 years in the league)and he will probably put up better number than what Yoa did at age 23. You guys have to have vision for the future. I like Lampe to but my first preference is Pavel.

Pike... the scouts the insider talked to with regards to Kaman.. indicate he has good athleticism. The raptors worked him out ... They thought the not-athletic label was innacurate. He's a hard worker, can shoot with either hand, and can get off the floor for a bigger guy. Quote from insider [ The Raptors worked out Chris Kaman earlier in the week, and that one also impressed them. "I'm not sure where the stuff is coming from that he's not a good athlete," the same source told Insider. "He was very impressive. He shot the ball well, and his footwork looked great on the post." ]

Perfect, we do that deal with the Raptors and take Bosh... they can take Kaman with #9 and everyone's happy.

Who are these scouts? Are they the same ones who passed on Amare Stoudemire and Caron Butler? Any of us could be a scout, how do you miss on those two guys during workouts? I say Bump those scouts and let me see film on the top 30 guys and I would make my own judgement!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Amare was passed up because of his HS Vagabond ways. Butler dropped because of team needs.

GMs never draft solely on talent.

I gotta stop agreeing with you Playa....I may start to pick up your rep.

I do agree though. Those scouts don't know spit. I gotta figure out how those guys get their jobs and try to do the same.

Layden better not trade that #9 pick!!!

Amare only worked out for a couple of teams I believe....one of them being Pheonix....then he came down with an injury that prevented other teams for looking at him.
