- Wasn't even sure if I was going to go to the game even though I bought tickets prior to the start of the season, and because I had another thing to do at 7pm.
- Got to the game with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and it was tied, and took a seat in the 300s with my popcorn and a beer.
- By the time the quarter was ending the boos were already in effect, as they went from a tie game to 10 down (later the official line was 12) to end the quarter, and I'm assuming before that fans were booing as well. I can't get myself to boo, but I sure laughed a few times at the sad state of things.
- The late foul call on Zach at the end of the 3rd was obvious, but when they first ended the quarter and no call, the Knick City Dancers were getting set to come out. However they were then pulled as the refs were reviewing the call. They then made the call (which seemed right), and the Dancers headed out to floor. But as soon as they got on the court they looked surprised after they were then pulled off again. Fans then BOOOOOED that and I just laughed out loud at the fact that it's so bad that we can't even get in between quarters right which is the one thing fans who like women can look forward to. Even after that it was funny, because the quarter was inexplicably delayed for a few more moments with players on the court, as fans cried out "WTF?" (the PG version).
- The 4th quarter was just so bad, that some fans openly admitted to getting tired of booing. I was chanting "Sell the Knicks!" and challenging some fans (in a friendly way) that calling to fire Isiah is not necessarily going to solve the problem with Dolan in charge. The ones I talked to agreed, actually, and I told them that some of you all have been calling for a boycott, which caught the attention of a few surrounding fans who looked at me when I said that.
- Could clearly hear the "We want Nate!" cheers in the 4th which was interesting.
- As others have reported, as soon as the "Fire Isiah" chants hail out from more than a few fans, MSG BLAAAAAASTED some hip-hop beats. I mean REALLY loud, and it was while the Knicks had the ball. The hilarious thing was that some started chanting it to the beat...hahaha...it was seriously lol funny.
- Many were attacking Curry more than a few times, saying he sucked, but Steph didn't get booed at all while I was there.
- The other interesting observation was late in the 4th when Isiah said something to Balkman who was lined up outside the key for FTs. Balkman seemed to talk back to Isiah, in a defensive way, and this went on for a few moments. Soon afterwards, Balkman and Agguire talked and Balkman was still resistant. After the TO was over and Balkman walked away, not seeming to have resolved the matter, Agguire put his hand to his head, which seemed out of frustration, but he seemed to play it off as if nothing happened. I noticed Balkman during an earlier 4th quarter time out, when he was not playing, that he wasn't even paying attention to Isiah in the huddle, but more watching the Knicks acrobats, or whatever they're called. My sense is Balkman may have tuned out the coaching staff, and there is friction there.
- Lee was trying hard late in the game, and deserves credit for having some heart.
- Interesting to see Q take of his headband in the 4th. I saw him in a timeout when the team was down close to 30 points, looked like he was in another world, like "How the eff did I end up in this situation."
Not that you needed me to say this, but things look bad...very bad. This was my first game this year, and other than the new scoreboard(s), MSG needs a serious makeover. I can't believe this is still being sustained. It's like a cancer that needs to be removed, but for some reason we won't seek treatment.
