Original thread in:
http://www.knicksonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4129

Our savior is here, and his name is Peter Vecsey. Read his column today, it's one the most important one's a Knick fan will read in years.

Mr. Vecsey is OFFICIALLY calling on fans to boycott the Knicks.

His column today is nothing less than a declaration of war against Dolan, and a call to action for Knick fans to join the cause. A few websites and forums are already mobilizing after the publication of this story.

As a Knick fan, I hope you will join Peter, Me, and the hundreds of other Knick fans in this boycott. This topic will be the focus of my next column, but here are a few items of what a boycott entails:

COMPLETE BARRING FROM ATTENDING ANY MORE KNICK GAMES

AVOID PURCHASING PRODUCTS FROM ANY OF THE KNICKS SPONSORS

I have also personally written to Mr. Vecsey to give him my support.

In addition to thanking him, I will be exploring the possibility of writing an open letter to James Dolan, and calling on fans to boycott all MSG Properties and sponsors and having it printed in the NY POST. Such action will guarantee Dolan even more negative publicity.

Once a sponsor gets the slightest feeling that it is in bad taste to be affiliated with the Knicks, Dolan would have no choice but to stop the bleeding.

I respect everyone's opinion's on this site, but I don't always agree. However, I think all knick fans around the world can agree that this team is an embarrassment to NYC.

Please join me in this boycott. Copy this thread and post it on as many Knicks sites as possible. It's time to take a stand

I'll follow the boycott....after I go to tomorrow night's game. Haven't been to a Knick game in a couple of years so going to take advantage of the cheap prices and enjoy some good seats.

I think they tried the same thing when Layden was GM...didn't work..people still came to the games...It might be too early in the season to gain momentum...The Knicks could still turn it around..I don't think the town has soured on them because the games are still packed..I think if the Knicks are still losing in Feb and March then Vescey may get a following...Too early still...

Also, a move like that will harden Dolan even more...He'd not the kind of cat that will let people tell him what to do...I think letting Zeke hang himself, and he is doing a good job of it, will do the trick...

What is turning it around for you? Winning 35-38 games and getting swept out of the first round of a POSSIBLE playoff berth? I find it pathetic, not a turnaround. The people who show up are simply casual fans who can afford to.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I wrote to Peter and asked him for help on getting an open letter from fans to James Dolan published in the paper.

He did get back to me.

I think we are on to something everyone

If I'm going to protest against something it will be something more serious than the state of the Knicks.

You can't judge anything by attendance yet. Most of these tickets were sold before the season started. Way before the franchise imploded and fans were pushed over the edge. Later in the year when people just stop going and can't give their tickets away and then next year will be when you'll be able to use attendance as a barometer. And I'm not talking about "announced" crowds.

i think at the very least the knicks should hand out medical marijuana to anyone willing to attend their games.

I think they tried the same thing when Layden was GM...didn't work..
Layden's teams won close to 40 games. When the team's win total is in the 20s, far more people will boycott.

I've been boycotting. I haven't watched a game all season. I keep up with what's going on when I have the time... but you actually expect me to conform to your schedule? Yeah, right.

New Yorkers don't care that much...Who the hell is gonna stand outside the Garden in the cold knowing Dolan couldn't give a rats arse who is outside doing what...Who's gonna protest..kids with no jobs or anything else better to do...

The last time they organized something like that about 100 people showed up...Good Luck..

I will never boycott the Knicks and I will watch every game. The guy owns the team and Isiah is running it--that is the bottom line. I'd rather constructively believe in solutions rather than acting *like* Dolan. I do think IT needs to be changed but he likely won't. If Stern has been pushing Dolan for this--it's not going to happen. Dolan has a Napolean complex and a couple of billion $. There is nothing you can do to him. Hopefully IF things stay in the shtter--he will be forced to make change. But I for one will not leave my team that I have rooted for for over 30 years because of a bump in the road.

There are other ways to hurt Dolan, if the house is still gonna be filled. Remember' the Knicks make a ton of money through television and other merchandise sales. I have already been in for awhile now. No television and definately no games or merchandise has been spent for by me. Join the revolution!!!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Approaching 40 years is some' bump, huh?! And it's just getting worse and getting worse. The boycott is constructive thinking, to get contructive thinkers onto this management team. Wouldn't you agree? Unless you think Dolan and Isiah are contructive thinkers?
I'll never trust this' team again.

"constructively believe in solutions"
Why? Do you have magical realgm-like powers? What will your constructive solutions actually construct? And what do you mean by "acting like Dolan"?
