From Mike Dougherty blog:

http://knicks.lohudblogs.com/2007/12/16/marbury-is-back-on-the-court/

"Eddy Curry stayed on the court for 14 straight minutes to start the game, and was practically doubled over when he took a seat. If that happens a couple of more times, he’ll be in shape again."

How can a dude still not be in shape?

He hasn't been getting minutes...He hasn't been playing long stretches at a time this season...You really don't get into game shape until you play...

Because hes lazy. Theres is no reason why he cant lose some weight and step on the court at 270lbs. Theres no reason why he cant play 14 minutes of basketball without becoming exhausted.

He just doesnt care enough about the team or his own selfrespect to do what he needs to do.

To top it off this guy is 25 years old, just wait till hes 30. Ive went from 190lbs when i was 20 to 215 lbs now that im 25. Im sure Ill weigh more when im 30. If you look at footage from when Curry was with the Bulls, it looks as if hes also put on some weight. I bet you when hes 30 hell weigh 320lbs of CHEESE.

Eddy curry has not been in shape for one single minute as a member of the new york knicks.

He came from chicago fat and has never gotten to proper game weight. Not once

You're pathetic holfresh. Curry has never been in shape for a second of his Knicks career and you're still going to sit there and make excuses for him.

You're what's called an Enabler.

Well, if Curry is benched because he's essentially obese, Thomas should get fired. Who knows though with this steaming pile of poo that is the Knicks franchise.

A pro athlete should be prepared to play 48 minutes in a game and be able to do it the next day. If you can't do it for a few minutes, then you're in bad shape for a pro athlete. Barring injuries, Nate, Lee, Marbury, Jamal, Malik (Well, maybe him) Jefferies, Balk and Chandler can do that, probably. Curry CAN'T and can prolly hardly play a quarter and a half. He's in bad shape. He's a bad pro and not a very good player.

Yep. Honestly, if the contract structure was the same in the NBA as it is in the NFL, Curry would get cut in the offseason, amongst many others.

I think that's a high standard for a big man- I doubt Shaq could do that-

However, Curry should be able to go strong for 12 minutes - and its bad that he is not in shape.

I thought he dedicated himself over the summer to improving?

i think eddy can't get into shape because he is too scared to work out hard enough in the offseason because of his heart condition and is somewhat scared to push himself too hard physically. that is just one reason of many that he just lacks that inner drive to maximize his full potential. i used to do it in school - i would settle to work hard enough just to get B's when i knew if i put the effort in i could get plenty more A's.

I think it's time to ease your own minds and just realize that this man will never do what it takes to be in shape. I stopped getting mad at JJ and Curry. I am now mad at Isiah for allowing it to happen
I just hope that people will like me

Bingo man.
This is so obvious.
From other hand losing weight will help his health too.
But to do this without scare to die he need to skip one season and just work on weight loss without weight lifting and practices.
Unfortunately people like money more that their live. Which is sad...

That doesn't make sense. The best thing he could do for his heart would be to workout hard and lose 30 lbs of fat. Hardcore wait-lifting would speed up his metabolism and cause him to lose a lot of fat and it wouldn't be nearly as straining on the heart as playing NBA basketball is anyway. If I know this just from reading a lot on my spare time, surely his trainers in Chicago and NY must know it. Most trainers rank activities that promote fat loss as

1) compound weight lifting
2) high intensity aerobic workouts with low intensity recovery periods (the technical term is high intensity interval training)
3) continuous low/moderate intensity aerobics (like light jogging)

And even before point 1 comes nutrition.

Bottom line he could lose a lot of fat, which would be the best thing for his heart, without even putting any strain on his heart.

I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but Eddie is STILL not in shape?
