Isiah should be banned from making trades.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

I actually think Artest is what the Knicks could use. He'd punch Marbury in the face, and I could see a tandem with Lee being special. However, Isiah is going to give up everything in yet another panic trade, removing emphasis from the W-L column.

Same play, final act.

I think if we get Artest Lee or Balkman will be gone. You can also throw Nate Robinson in that mix. Everyone knows Isiah will do anything right now to avoid losing short term.

it depends if there is someone else within the 'brain trust' acting as a filter on these deals- I hope that Dolan & Isiah learned from their mistake with Eddy Curry & TWO UNPROTECTED Picks.

Ideally, the deal should be about taking a potential head ache off their hands, in exchange for a package of Jeffries & Balkman & nothing more.

If Sac doesn't want that kind of package, then we shouldn't deal.

Definitely no draft picks should be included in any deal. You could even sub JJ2 for Q. But at the end of the day a trade for Artest is just another case of Isiah looking for a short term fix. Artest's presence may give us a jolt of life for the remainder of the season but it will push us further into no-mans-land. No where near good enough to win it all and too good to get a top ten pick.

Unfortunately you are right, but I'd give up Balkman's high ass for Artest seven days a week and twice today, or any other Sunday for that matter.

At this point, the contracts in relation to the players we have really doesn't matter. They're locked into each other, so it really wouldn't matter if we went out and got another 'on the edge player' at this point. Normally, I'd say wait for the contracts to run out and start fresh with what quality you'd have and just draft and spend money on big time free agents your way to the top. But you know, I know and everyone esle knows that the Knicks have no patience for that kind of thing. The way I see it, the shooting off of the foot thing is going to continue for years from now. These clowns already let them do it for years and it's pretty clear that the commisioner (a New Yorker to boot) isn't going to do a damn thing to help the Knick fan have something to be proud of. We have all' been screwed in every way possible. Get used to it, if you haven't already.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Yeah. SI's source on this is the NY POST Berman article where Berman was just musing that things are so bad that it might be time to look into Artest again. I don't see it happening.
