I could only dream the knicks could be as good as they are, if you saw the highlight of the game vs the jazz then you know what i mean. Davis hit a fadeaway 3 in fischer's face to secure the lead with 10 secs left and the place was going crazy. Everyone was standing for what seemed like the whole 4th quarter. Man I wish the garden was like that again. Why can't we be the warriors?

Bcause we have no warriors.
Patric was the last warrior.
Now just primadonnas and snakes.

they're not gonna win anything until they get a low post scoring threat... we should be aiming at higher goals than wanting to be like the Warriors.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

TMS that drives me nuts too. We always seem to compare ourselves to the mediocre. We need to start taking steps to be like the Spurs. If we thrive for that we will catch and then pass the Warriors. I think unfortunately we've lowered our vision as an organization and attempted to just compete in the Weak East instead of doing the things it takes to build a juggernaut.

Knicks is unique organization in NBA.
We have no comparison. We are stucked with juggernauts...
Eddy, Steph, Zack, Craf, jerome... You name it...

I can understand the desire to want to see this team be made into a top level powerhouse, but i'm curious as to what you and others think is the chances are to actually achieving that? I mean in truth we've only seen Duncan's teams or Shaq's teams win the last few titles aside from Detroit. In that case how do you begin to replicate that unless you have a team make up that starts with one of those guys? Then my next question is how many of those guys are there at any time in the league? Maybe Howard or Oden is that kind of guy, we'll have to wait and see, but the facts are that it's not ever going to be easy to build a team like that.

I can almost understand what Isiah was trying to do, even if his execution was poor. He was going for some kind of dominance inside and despite the fact that Curry isn't the equal of a Duncan or Shaq, he tried to add a guy like Zach to offset some of his weaknesses. The real failure is in the fact that he hasn't added the perimeter players that you need to enhance the post presence. Yeah we know the team is full of one way players and all, but the real fatal flaw is the lack of a Wade, Kobe or Parker type to make it all work. Steph has that kind of talent, but not the head to play that part. When he actually did play like that for a brief time, you could see how it helped.

I know my position on the team is not popular, but I could always see some sense in what Isiah was trying to do and it wasn't an attempt to mimic the Warriors or some lesser team. He's come up short, but he's been trying to aim higher. He just lacked to ability to execute the plan properly. Perhaps if he had brought in help at GM much earlier he may have been able to pull it off. But by himself, it's been a disaster. We went into the offseason saying we needed a shotblocker/rebounder and a shooter and we got Zach and Chandler. To me they serve a purpose too, but as many have pointed out they weren't exactly the most pressing needs. I still have no problem with adding those 2, but in terms of building a contender we still have those glaring needs and to add to it, we need to address the future PG situation. So here we are. I know i'm in the minority, but I still think this is a fixable situation with the right moves. You add a player like a Deron Williams to this group and it would make an immediate difference. The lack of a leader is perhaps the biggest issue of all for this team. We have spotty leadership, which is like having none at all.

So THE PLAN was to make Knick dominant team in the paint.
That’s why we traded for Steph...
Our next dominant players inside were Malik, Mo, Timmi, Jerome...
Then Eddy came into the picture but as he was not so dominant... we also get Zack to water it out.
So this was/is the plan...

You only see Lakers and Spurs as teams to look at. You do mention Detroit.
What about Suns, Dallas, Orlando, Utah, Boston, Denver...?
I will be happy if we will be in some kind of run to be near this group.
Is this not good enough for you?

Oh well... I forget the dominant force of Mohammed and Vin Baker...

I agree with you, it's very hard to achieve what these teams have achieved. That is why it is important not to waste assets on athletes without desire. We paid 50 cents on the dollar for the pieces but are expecting superstar results. If you can't get the superstar instead of acquiring damaged goods, take your time and position yourself to make the big strike. We have instead positioned ourselves to make mediocre strikes over time.
