The players don't like him, Isiah and the fans hate him. Team chemistry is at an all time low, why would anyone want the return of one of the greatest lockerroom poisons the game has every known? He's a huge energy suck even when he's Starbury, one can only imagine the vacuum he creates when he's grieving not only the loss of a parent, but also the demise of his Knicks career.

Another month or so we'll be in late January, which is when he's usually shutting it down anyway. And in his absence management seems to be investing in Crawford as our leader. I'm sure it's based more on his personality, effort and demeanor than his playmaking skills, but if they're going to hand the point to him doesn't it seem silly that after LB tried to groom him for the role Isiah played him almost exclusively at the two since then?

If Steph does return, what is his role? Does anyone beside Holfresh still believe in him as a floor leader? Is he mentally and physically capable of high responsibility (and the heat that comes with it) and high minutes, or should he play limited duty at SG, perhaps splitting time there with Q, with Balkman or Lee replacing Q at SF?

Naturally, my own preference would be for Isiah to be fired before Marbury is even expected to return, and the new/interim GM can extend Steph the same courtesy Isiah gave to Penny and Francis, which is to stay as far from the team as possible.

Don't call us, we'll call you.

I have a feeling he will just retire at the end of this year. He's already started to express those sentiments and its not crazy to think he wants out. He can retire, move out of the country, not play for a year and then go to Europe after that.

He'll come back this year, but we're not winning anything anyway untill there are sweeping changes. I'd expect to his role to be what it always has been.

OK, i've been trying to keep from ragging on him too much the past week cuz of his loss & all... but man, i agree w/everything u just said... i hope the Knicks just tell this guy to stay home for the rest of the year & part ways at season's end via buyout... his mere presence here sucks the life right out of this franchise just like Isiah does.

I would have expected the knicks to have played a bit better without him- they've sucked worse than ever.

Most likely he will take a month off. If not, he will not return to the Knicks. I would not be surprised if Isiah is encouraging him to stay home. Not to mention the Knicks are losing and may not win another game until Febuary. Why would he want to come back? Hell, even players on this team don't even want to be here.

Yeah, I don't see Marbury being part of turning things around. It's too toxic between him and the team, the coach and the fans.

And if they start turning things around without him, why invite him back to muck it up?

Marbury's presence looms like a dark cloud even while he's away from the team.

Not me. I'm done punching him around. I can't blame this team anymore. How much more proof does anyone need to know that these guys just don't go good together? It's the fellow who put it all together and caused one of the worst chemistries Knick history.
I'll never trust this' team again.

This team is' bizaar, isn't it? Nothing makes sense. Stephon is away and they get worse?! It makes it look like he wasn't the problem. But no one can nail the problem with this bunch. No one ever pin points what the problem with this team is. It's one of the most baffling things I have ever seen in my life, in sports. There have been worse. But this is just bad. This is definately the fault of Isiah Thomas. There is absolutely no question about that.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I've heard he's set to return Monday.

I think he'll be back in the starting lineup in the next few weeks, at least.

Isiah is going to keep doing what he's been doing until he gets fired.

I win? You're officially coming over to the Dark Side?

Is this the part of the movie where all the ex-lover zombies stalk around at midnight to find the sole survivor?

ur right that Marbs is not the only reason this team stinks & i absolutely agree that the pieces don't fit... Isiah is the main reason why we're in the position we're in... both of them need to go.
