Know your representatives. And ask them to get behind bill 'H.R. 676'. Universal Health Care for eveyone!

Siar, I'm one of those people without insurance, and I agree it's important, but people come here to talk about sports. MOST people tend to stay away from the off topic here, and address it elsewhere, where they feel it's appropriate. Of course, you have some certain regulars in the political and race threads, but for the most part, just a few people are gonna be talking on these OT threads, and it's not because we don't care. We do. We just simply feel more comfortable talking about sports and maybe socialize because we really have, strangely, developed some online friendships on this message board. There's nothing wrong with mainly sticking to the sports though. We'll look into it at different places.

Honestly, i don't have insurance either. I have spent long periods of my life without insurance. My sister is a doctor and I feel like she should be compensated properly for her hard work. There are a limited number of funds that can be used for a limited number of purposes. I feel like people should be given proper incentives to want a service like medical insurance. Universal healthcare without any incentive to reduce the cost of individuals is insane.

Number puncher? BURN IN HELL! If there is anyone that doubts that software developers are the most important people in the world, they are simply wrong.

I initially thought you were making a joke that the number 2 is prime, which would've been very dorky.

You guys are beautiful. I'm with a Union and I have health care and all that good stuff, but I also know that if I ever had a serious illness, eventually I could very well end up being a burden to people and possibly on the street, homeless. I recently found out that most of the homeless people on the streets, this is the main reason why they are there. Very, very sad and I am totally touched by the film Sicko. A terrible crime is being committed as we speak, by our own health care system and we' as a people need to speak up. Please pass this information onto as many people and/or boards as you can. I think this is as important as environmental issues, human rights issues and all of the other things that are the most important to us as Americans in this country and even the world. I'm glad some of you care. And for you's who may think MIchael is a piece of work, please by pass him and look at the issue. This is way beyond him or anyone individual. A healthy, well educated nation is a happy nation. I believe a happy nation does not worry about things like race and all of the other fears we have as Americans, each and every day. Dare' to think dangerously! Thank you.

I would like to note something about the Moore film. I don't recall him saying anything about the 'two year waiting period that (for instance) Europeans have to wait to qualify for National Health Care'. I don't know why he didn't mention it, let alone talk about it. I found this out through several of my European friends, one who had to put her mother and father into a home, because their just too old to take care of each other anymore. It also means that if you need an operation now' then I think your out of luck, unless you can cover it on your own. I also got the same thing from japan. They pay very high taxes but you are totally covered. But only if your past the waiting period. Other than that, the subject is still very important for us Americans.
