Both volatile players with a history of trouble who put up pretty good numbers. Of course both play different positions but I was thinking if Stephen Jackson were available this off-season and the Warriors would have kept J-Rich how many would have wanted Jack if it meant giving up Channing and Balk instead of trading for Zach?

I think Jackson is clearly a better player than Zach and has more positive impact on a team when they are both on top of their games.

I've wanted SJax for years. He is a winner and big game clutch player.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I'm taking Jackson. The guy is a huge bonehead but when he's out on the court he does whatever it takes to win. I just don't see that from Eddy Winslow.

The Warriors are like 10-3 since Jackson returned to the team from serving his early season suspension. I'm not sure how much he'd thrive here but I have to believe his impact would have been greater than Zach.

Channing & Balk for Jax? no way would i have made that deal... Jax is talented but he's way too volatile... there's a reason he's working on his 6th NBA team in his 8 year career... if you're gonna give up Balk u mine as well target Ron Artest since he's the better player to begin with.

Malik & Channing is the most i would've given up for Jax over the offseason.

LOL Ron's played on 3 teams and Jackson has played on 4. Ron is the better defender but statistically they are about equal. There's no way a Artest for Balk deal gets done then and definitely not now.

Jackson 22ppg 5reb 4ast 1.6stl
Artest 20ppg 6.5reb 4ast 2.3stl

I hate Stephen Jackson to me he's just a gimmick player whose been fortunate enough to land on teams stacked with talent. Also would people singing his praises if he was a Knick? Meaning is anyone here actually claiming that if Stephen Jackson was on the Knicks right now, they would be a better team?

He definitely belongs to The Product.
It's a shame we don't have him at MSG. As well as Artest.
Lee and Balk do not belong to this show. Replacement them with JAX and Ron will be logical and will make The MSG Product well rounder craze show.

ok, he's been on 5 teams in his NBA career... NJ, SA, ATL, IND, & GS... trade him to the Knicks & that makes 6 in 8 years.

Artest has played for CHI, IND & SAC... he's also a better all around player than Jax... if there's no way a Balk deal gets done for Artest then it doesn't get done... does that mean we need to take on another blockhead like Jax on this team w/an even longer term contract while giving up 1 of our only semi-attractive trade chips in the process?

Jackson is just a different headcase. I don't lust over headcases for my team.

I agree he's a weird dude but nevertheless check out GSW record since acquiring him it's well above .500. This yr they are 11-3 with him in the line-up. The point I'm making is if we're trading for headcases how come we can't manage to get the right ones or turn the ones we do have into resourceful and productive players where it amounts to wins? How has Don Nelson gotten the most from him? Not to mention he's a captain of the Warriors?

I was very surprised last year that isiah didn't make more of a push to get harrington and jackson both of whom would have been nice upgrade.

I think a Jamal, Frye, Nate etc would have been very enticing to get those guys and harrington would have been in a much better situation here

Sigh, what are the chances of that actually happening? Is there ANYTHING or ANYONE that can convince Dolan that it's the way to go?

I'm all for Anthra**** this group and starting over. It should be the only solution but as nyk4 said we know another trade is looming(trades are looming) before I SAY UGH goes. With that being said I'm not looking forward to acquiring the likes of a Darius Miles or Stromile Swift.

We bring down borderline character players. Jax would be a mess here.

hopefully this never happens to you, but all i can say is you've never felt helplessness until you've been through a divorce proceeding.
