that was bad but this seems worse. and the players seems to have given up earlier.

Not that I have watched the last 3 games. Probably skip some more too.

No- it was stupid and frustrating with the hometown players and guys like Lee not getting playing time, but I don't think there was an all out lack of effort the way its been at times this year.

the lb year still fell under "first year under lb" mantra. there was still hope for the next few years.

this is basically rock bottom where hope is all but gone. fans are resigned to the fact that this is going to take a bunch of years.

I at least had hope then- hope that somehow this rag tag group would become a team.

Now- I have no hope.

Back then, you used to watch the games.

What does that tell you about how bad it is?

When the guy who runs the Knicks fan site doesn't watch the games, you know we're in trouble.

I bet this site got more hits with LBas head coach than Isiah
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

this team would be in MUCH diferent shape if dolan had fired zeek and allowed brown to stay. brown would have straightened this mess out if he had one more season to take care of the roster. we would be sitting in a much different spot right now.

and strangely, Dolan would have been better off financially too.

you know, it's funny martin, but i dont know if one has an impact on the other. as you saw the other day, earnings are up 3% regardless of the crap that went on over the past 12 months. i dont know if he'd be better off financially as Larry was a big $ pill to swallow as well, but i can say confidently that we would not be hearing what we hear at the garden today if lb was still around. its one thing when you hear it on tv, but when you are there each and every game and hear the crowd going nuts with all the boo'ing and chanting, it's reallly depressing.

Back then we could deceive ourselves that the team wasn't as bad as they looked, they were just babies for quitting on someone they hated. Now we see they are as bad as they look(ed) and they're quitting on someone they like.

Quitting probably isn't quit accurate, that would imply they could flip a switch and do better if they wanted to. I don't think that's the case. I think they're all pretty clueless as to how to perform and would flip the switch if they could. I just think they are a deeply divided team without leadership, and every night go out there like deer facing a headlight.

Sure, I could envision a scenario wherein they've got a rhythm and confidence and play as a unit, but I don't think there's a soul on earth that knows how to get them there. And if they did, it surely would require some detoxification of key players and the emergence, or importation of true leaders.

And that's just to get to mediocrity. Isiah and Marbury wont lead us past the gutter.

can you imagine what someone like KG would have done to this group if he were traded into this mess???

It was never this bad until the last 20 games. early on it was him trying to find a lineup and get a fire under his players. Then we had the 6 game win streak which really was some nice ball. Then Marbury revolted and also got hurt so it came undone in february.

we must move on from Marbury to move forward. Then you can fire Isiah, let Herb have the team, again, and starphuch with a new coach.

But again you have to factor in the following

Larry Browns Knicks
Additions: Eddy (no training camp), Antonio, Lee, Nate, Frye, Richardson (brother killed), James
Trades: Francis, Rose

Larry was a baby and didn't do a good job, but he did recognize you can't win with a lot of these players and wanted to get rid of them. Which is exactly what should have been done. But Isiah repeated the same dumb move for Francis adding two years of contract hell in the Zach deal, did the same horrible mid-level deal he did for james with jefferies, drafted the same type of player in chandler he did with balkman. He repeats the same move.........

Shoot first Guard-Marbury-->Crawford---->Nate---->Francis

Small Foward with zero Offense-Balkman---->Jefferies

Post Player with no defensive skills---->Zach----->Eddy

I am really beginning to think Jerome James would be an upgrade over Eddy, even deke would provide more inside toughness. One mistake turns into another, Malik, Mo Taylor it's just disgraceful
was it this bad during the LB year?
