Don't have a link yet.

Wonder if this means Isiah is free to be fired?

Jury had awarded $11.6M Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK -- Madison Square Garden and New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas have settled the sexual harassment case brought by a former team executive who had been awarded $11.6 million in punitive damages by a jury, both sides announced Monday.
The deal came as compensatory damages were about to be added and as the executive, Anucha Browne Sanders, was preparing to return to U.S. District Court in Manhattan, where her description several weeks ago of her ordeal with the Knicks exposed the club's tawdry side, from its dysfunctional clubhouse to its star player's sexual exploits with a Knicks intern.
"I am extremely pleased that we have reached a settlement," Browne Sanders said in a statement.
MSG said: "We don't feel any less strongly than we did throughout the entire episode. The outcome was a travesty of justice, and we vehemently disagree with the jury's decision, however, at the strong request of (the NBA commissioner) and in the interest of focusing on basketball, we can all agree that it is time for us to move on and put this issue behind us."

"Fired Knicks executive Anucha Browne Sanders has settled her sexual harassment suit against the team that fired her - days before a judge was to decide how much the team owed her in damages.

The settlement - for an undisclosed amount - was revealed in a one-paragraph statement filed today with Manhattan Federal Court Judge Gerard Lynch.

"It is hereby stipulated by and between the parties to this action, through their respective counsel, that the above-captioned action shall be dismissed, with prejudice...without costs to any party."

Browne Sanders, who was awarded $11.6 million in punitive damages and stood to collect millions more in compensatory damages, said she was happy it was finally over."

I predict they will show more fight than the last game. Sad, but true.

We need this team to lose if it has any chance of ever regaining its former glory. Sounds crazy but it's not. The sooner Isiah is out of here and we get the #1 pick, the better.

PS: MSG has showed that they are losers even in the courtroom. They settled becaued they had no case. A bunch of spin-job losers.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

NEW YORK -- Madison Square Garden and New York Knicks coach Isiah Thomas have settled the sexual harassment case brought by a former team executive who was awarded $11.6 million in punitive damages.

Terms of the settlement were not immediately disclosed.

"I am extremely pleased that we have reached a settlement," Anucha Browne Sanders said in a statement.

The deal came as compensatory damages were about to be added and as Browne Sanders was preparing to return to U.S. District Court in Manhattan, where her description of her ordeal with the Knicks exposed the club's tawdry side, from its dysfunctional clubhouse to its star player's sexual exploits with a Knicks intern.

"As I have said before, I am completely innocent," Thomas said. "This decision doesn't change that. However, this is the best course for Madison Square Garden, and I fully support it."

MSG added: "We don't feel any less strongly than we did throughout the entire episode. The outcome was a travesty of justice, and we vehemently disagree with the jury's decision, however, at the strong request of [the NBA commissioner] and in the interest of focusing on basketball, we can all

huh. I truly thought Isiah was being kept on until the appeal, but with that settled and Dolan's endorsement, I'm thinking that there really is no end in sight.

If they settled can this be considered a small victory for Isiah?

Uh, no. MSG proposed the settlement, not Anucha.

well now the appeal is no longer a reason for him to be around.

now it either comes to job performance or how many flowers and boxes of chocolates he buys dolan everyday.

Papabear was waiting for the appeal so the "truth" on Isiah could come out. Well it did. We now know that MSG was too afraid of further damages, to it's reputation and wallet, to go through with it.

I'm disappointed as embarrassment is the only interest this organization holds anymore.

Awesome!

Hey, I do recall this though: There was TWO parts to the Anucha bit.

1) Appeal for the 11.6M Civil Trial Award
2) Hearing for the 10M Compensatory Damages (what she sued for)

Does anyone know whether or not this "settlement" settles BOTH claims? I sure hope so.

Now, all that's in the way of firing Isiah? Dolan finding a way to "Larry Brown" him and force arbitration via a termination of contract - and not just an actual firing.

Lets go!

I assume we will learn the settlement amount from the next cablevision filing, much like lb's payout.

that amount will be interesting to learn.
I suspect this legal thing was one more excuse for isiah- I don't see him gone tonight- even with a 50 point blow out.
but, I think dolan has removed 1 obstactle that made it hard in dolan's mind to fire him
