Newsday -
Not liking what he was seeing from his prized offseason acquisition, Knicks' Coach Isiah Thomas yanked Zach Randolph from the lineup early in the second half of Saturday night's embarrassing 105-77 loss to the 76ers at Madison Square Garden.

Randolph fully expected to check back in. He never did. The seventh-year pro was glued to the bench for the rest of the second half, watching the calamity from the sideline.

"I wanted to play," Randolph said after practice at the MSG Training Center yesterday. "I want to be out there every minute. I want to play. Whatever I can do to go out and help the team. I don't like sitting on the bench."

Randolph, who'll look to get back on track tonight when the Knicks (6-13) host the Dallas Mavericks (13-8) in the second game of a three-game homestand, wasn't exactly thrilled with getting pulled. He wanted to be out on the floor to work himself out of his funk.

Seems to me he's more focused about what's good for Zach. Instead of saying "I need to do the things necessary not to get bench and If I get benched then obviously I'm not doing something right", he talks about needing to be out there to work himself out his poor play. Come on Zach you're a vet you know the drill. Not to mention his comments aren't about his defense but appear to be about his numbers/touches/minutes.

yeah, I read it that way too. Dude just wants to play, just like Malik. Unlike Curry and Marb some of the time.

Maybe he wants to play enough for it to sink in that he should play the right way, or else.

Yes. Like Malik he wants to play... on any other team.
But man you get paid to look like clown this time. So please complete the assignment.
It is not so difficult. Jerome can do it, Nate can do it, so anybody can do it.

Yeah there was no acknowledgment for his poor play besides the fact he felt he should have been left on the court to work it out. Why is he concerned about his playing time/benching instead of acknowledging what he did to get benched.

They also told him that Isiah has been preaching patience.......zach says he didn't have any patience...he just wants to win. I can't get the link but that was printed in todays Daily News.

I can't knock him for any of that.

Zach shouldn't be complaining. The reason he was benched is because he got DOMINATED by Reggie "nut grabber" Evans on two consecutive nights.
