Curry & Jamal

for

Luke Walton, Javaris Crittendon, Kwame Brown & LA's 1st rounder

that gets LA 2 players that will bring some added offensive pop to their team & help them contend now... i think Curry would work well alongside Bynum since they would complement each other's weaknesses & strengths, & Jamal would be a much better backcourt mate for Kobe than what they have now in Fisher... maybe this helps to keep Kobe appeased, & gives NY a ton of cap relief along w/2 young players & a pick to build up the future core with... Kwame's strictly in there for cap space, but he might be serviceable for a year in a reserve role... still not so old that he's a lost cause just yet... the Knicks might even have a shot to get under the cap when Marbs & Malik's contract come off the books after next season if they can pull something like this off.

C - Zach / Kwame / Turd
PF - D Lee / Malik / Morris
SF - Q Rich / Balkman / Jefferies
SG - Jones / Walton / Crittendon
PG - Marbury / Nate / Mardy

this team probably wins about 35-38 wins the next 2 years, but what are we really looking at otherwise? at least we'd have some flexibility to make trades or free agent signings in 2 year's time, which is a lot more than i can say right now.

When will you realize that Zach isn't a center? he is only 6'7 or 6'8 he ain't no center.

who the hell cares if he's a C or not... this team ain't winning a championship anytime soon... i wanna focus on either achieving team balance or clearing salary so we can possibly make wiser trades down the road... since achieving team balance seems to be the farthest thing from Isiah's mind these days, i'm thinking go the other route.

fine, start Kwame at C... what difference does it make? this team stinks with or without making that trade... at least we'd gain cap relief, young talent & another pick in the draft.

Kwame is aweful, you watch him play and you'll wish Ken the Animal Banister was back playing center for your team. He is the only player that Ewing couldn't help.

i know he's awful... that's not the point of this trade... this is to help them improve down the road, not eek out a couple more wins than the 35 wins they're well on their way towards achieving this year.

actually, scratch that... they're on pace to win about 26-28 games this year as presently constructed.

when will you realize Eddy Curry isn't a center?

Centers play defense, rebound and guard the lane. Curry does none of that.

I would let this team play it out. Go to the Lottery with purpose of getting a great player. Lakers are playing well and they are actually starting to get good chemistry Bynum is getting better and better I think they are gonna stick with what they have. They have a great coach and knows his team well and knows how to manipuilate them well. Lakers aren't that far away from competeing on a high level again. Adding players of Curry and Crawfords calibur doesn't guarantee the Lakers to be better than they are right now.

You don't need to tell me his weaknesses I know all of his weakness. his biggest weakness is a hostess Twinky. Don't think I don't know he is fat azz who just is content on being a poor mans a very very poor mans Shaq. But you know what there is a lot of crap out there and he is better than most of the crap that we call centers in todays NBA.

i disagree w/u on that... i think adding Curry & Jamal to their team helps them tremendously because they actually have players that can complement their weaknesses... Kobe plays perimeter defense & Bynum plays frontcourt defense & rebounds... Curry gives Kobe a low post scoring option & Jamal is a much better player than Derek Fisher... losing Walton is a minimal loss for them... they have Odom at SF & that kid Vujacic has really been coming on in recent weeks... Ariza can get more playing time too this way... Crittendon isn't going to contribute much for them this year anyway... if Kobe misses out on the playoffs, he's gonna start whining to be traded once again.

& if your aim is to play out the season & hope we land ourselves a stud in the draft, this trade does nothing to hurt that idea either... if anything the added pick from LA gives us more assets to either draft young talent or make a big deal in the offseason using expiring contracts & picks.

If I'm trading curry and crawford then I need Odoms back in return.
