3. Denver Carmelo Anthony 6-7 234 SF Syracuse Fr.
4. Toronto Pavel Podkolzine 7-5 303 C (Russia) 1985

Would you pick up Wade and keep on collecting SGs?
Pick Sweetney?
Reach for Badiane with the 9th?
Greek Baby Shaq?
Other?

nbadraft.net should lay off the pipe if they think the Knicks would draft Wade after the others. I'd go with Baby Shaq cause of his size and strength and he can clog the middle.

Rumor has it that Chicago will take a guard, regardless. It's either Pietrus or Wade for them. Still, if the nbadraft scenario were to occur, the Knicks would probably take Sweetney or trade the pick down to get Badiane or Lang.

That mock draft would be about the worst possible outcome for us... if Wade slips... bad.

Take Badiane if this senario happens. The Knicks need a center first. This would be the worst case senario but most likely to happen. Toranto is looking to trade down there might be a trade in the works some where in the league with the fourth pick. My gut feeling tells me that Blazers are going to move Wallace and 23rd pick for the 4th overall pick and Williams and Hunter.

Chicago and Milwalkee will take guards. NBA draftnet isn't the best at taking team needs and makeups into account. Chicago getting Lampe? That makes no sense at all with young Curry and Chandler (unless they plan to deal one). Pietrus makes the most sense there. Milwalkee will take a PG to replace Payton and/or Cassell... Hinrich/Wade is talented enough to go there.

Rain, I agree with you concerning Chicago but, I dunno about Milwaukee. They need help up front... their front court is a mess.

pike... yes. There team is an odd mix and they could go several different ways. They have some young front-court talent there. Haislip, Gadzuric, Pryzbilla, Jamal Sampson (all over 6'10) and the underacheiver Tim Thomas... and Caffey.. The only place they don't have youth is at the point. They will go with Hinrich, IMO. Kaman seems to be a duplication and Lampe won't be able to help Karl for years... well see. I hope thats what happens at least (fingers crossed).

The bucks have cassell at point, mason at the sg/sf, karl has redd play pg/sg/sf, thomas at sf. They need big guys. Their centers are pryz and ervin johnson which doesnt say much (although I would add pryz to the knicks anyday). They could never find a good starting PF all year. They rotated between gadzuric, caffey, mason, and haislip all year long. The bucks could take kaman, lampe, bosh ("if" he falls), sweetney, or collison. A lot depends on what they plan on doing with payton, resign, sign-and-trade, or just let him walk.

... it's what Payton plans on doing with them... and he's going to bolt, in my opinion.

I love Badiane but 9 is too high to take him. We could easily trade down and still get him....say send Bos the #9 and #30 for the #16 and #20. Then we could get Badiane and a solid player like West or Collison as well.

I wouldn't send it to Boston here is why they need the same thing as the KNicks a center. what would stop boston from taking Badaine. Only way I see this trade happening is if T.J. Ford is still on the board. Boston needs a point too. They can get one at 16.

As strange as this sounds, I would pick up the best talent if this mock draft were to happen and all the GOOD centers gone. We can decide later what to do with that player, hopefully trade him for a center who is ready to part ways with a team looking for a change.

NBAdraft.net has done a poor job though. We all know Chicago isnt picking up yet another young center. The paperClips also has a couple of 7 footers. One of these centers is going to drop to 9. Layden will have one of these centers. He cant possibly screw this up! (no matter how hard he tries)

Some team have him listed as a sf/pf type player. Chicago is interested in a SF. Lampe just might fit well with Chicago. He has a shooting guard range and they have been comparing him to Dirk, who in my opinion plays like a sf/pf. I can see Chicago taking Lampe with their pick.

NBA Draft NET does not do mock drafts on needs of teams but as the top prospects in order. So they are not say the Knicks are going to draft Wade but that Wade is the 9th best player in the draft.
Cursed no more!!! Knicks are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
