If we don't play him and he's not on the active roster on any given night. Get him some PT. And Randolph Morris too.

The Knicks don't seem to be using this resource much. Jazz just sent Mo Almond down there and he was a first rd. pick. Its a good way to get them some experience and they can work on different aspects of their game.

Knicks D-league affiliate is in Tulsa.
Knicks share the Tulsa affiliate with the Bucks and Mavs.
The Knicks are the only team to not have called up or sent down a player to D-league.
Next year, the plan is for the Knicks to own their own D-league team.
I expect them to make use of it then.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Just checking, so him practicing against NBA talent everyday is a bad thing?

That would be helpful. They could then send their own coaches down there.

It's also good for him to get live action playing time. And a lot of these guys get called up and down anyway, so he'll get his shot to practice here.

Actually being away from the circus here may not be such a bad thing.

How can the knicks have their own D league team when each D league roster spot counts towards the NBA roster limit? They wouldn't be able to field a whole team...

Because there are D-league free agents- not every player sent down there is affiliated with a NBA team.

That's another good pipeline for talent- say we have a bunch of guys signed to our D-league affiliate. If any of them are actually good, we'd have a great shot of signing them to our own active roster (we'd have to cut someone spot that they would take).

you can have your own team to send your roster players down to, but that team would also consist of non knick roster players. Not all NBDL players are on NBA rosters....

You can designate guys who are on your NBA roster to the D-league and send them down up to 3 times per year. Just because you might fill out that team with a bunch of scrubs doesn't mean those guys are on your 15 man roster. If you wanted to bring one of those guys UP, you'd have to cut someone else.

During the season there is a LOT less practicing than we might expect.

Chandler should definitely go to the D-league. There are quality players there and he could gain confidence and develop his game. IT has enough to worry about. I know there is no way they are giving this kid the time he needs during practice b/c during the season the coaches simply don't have time like that. Let him go to the D-league and develop.

This is thereason the knicks and others want their own D-league affiliate. Say we send him down to D-league... we have ZERO control then over his developemtn, We're just crossing our fingers. At least withthe big club, our coaches can work with him. When you send him to the D-league you never know if he's being coached to be a team player, or if they just let him go off for 30 ppg. Or something in between. I would have started him in D-league but now that he's with the big club, let him stay here. Bouncing around just to pick up minutes in a meaningless AAU type game is not necessarily the same as 'Development'

They'd be playing with 2 other NBA players down there in Nick Fazekas (Mavs) and Ramon Sessions (Bucks). Sessions is a good PG prospect.

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

He's practicing against a bunch of me first players with some of the worse habits in the NBA, hence our crappy record.

At least in the D League- he might get good coaching and get to play and watch competitive basketball, as opposed to the losing going on here.

Agree, though, he should be getting minutes here- don't know why he hasn't- we're a 5 & 10 team, doubt he would have cost us any games- in fact, the way Q Brick has shot, we might have won some additional games

I beg to differ

With Chandler being "Already Better Than Trevor Ariza", there's no way you can send him to the NBDL.

He's not practicing against NBA talent; he's practicing against the Knicks.
Why don't we send Wilson Chandler to the D-League....
